My little miracle. She just rocked out open heart surgery last week and is such a trooper. We found out she has a genetic deletion syndrome and will have some challenges due to the deletion....but looking at her bright eyes, I think she's going to be just fine

What a cutie! What is genetic deletion?

eta: I realize that it is likely the literal deletion of a chromosome, just wondering if that is a general term or specific.

Her's specifically is a micro deletion on the 22nd chromosome, q arm. Called 22q deletion syndrome. There are a variety of ways it can manifest, but the big red flags were a heart defect and missing thymus.

Here is Amelia a few days old and recently (taken just a few weeks ago). She is 3 years, 9 months...will be 4 on April Fool's Day. Time just flies.

Congrats to all the new moms...fun to see all the new adorable babies!

And fun to see how the "old" ones have grown!!!!!!!

Here are some pictures of my daughter as a baby. The first one was taken when she was six weeks old in Colombia; she was born with a head full of straight, spiky, dark hair. The second was taken when she was about a year old (if I remember correctly) here in the United States. She was playing with health food store Cheerios (called Oatios, I think) at the photograher's studio!

AGBF, infants are adorable, but I have to say, your daughter is one of the rare ones who, while getting prettier and prettier, is totally recognizable from infant to later. Her infant picture looks so mature - that is to say, she doesn't really look like an awkward baby to me. Very pretty!!!

I have been really hesitant to post comments on individual babies here because leaving anyone out would be a crime!!! I have to say that the photograph of charbie's daughter is simply award winning, however! We all have babies that are just as beautiful and are begging to be held and cuddled in the snapshots we took of them, but the professional photographer charbie used knew at just what second to take the photograph which seemed to capture her angelic soul. I only wish each of us could have a professional portrait that great to post!

I hate to be partial as well - all the babies here are adorable. But Tgal - it's so great to see a new pic of Amelia! It's amazing to see the difference between her baby pic and her 4 year old pic. What a grown-up young lady! She looks really confident and happy.

It's crazy how the time flies! I know I said, that, but can't say it enough. I guess spending nearly a decade here (starting lurking in 2003) means that life is moving for all of us too, but many of the newest crop of PS moms weren't even ENGAGED when I was pregnant with Amelia!

But thank you...that pic was taken over a month ago. She looks even older now! Hehehe.

No!!! Baby number two has different lips! I could tell them apart even if they had been born at the same time! What a relief!!! You had me scared for a second there, qtiekiki! I thought I was going crazy with baby fever!
