When I first joined PriceScope 12 years ago, I quickly became friendly with a wonderful PSer - @atroop711. We met in real life and we've stayed friends ever since.

So today, when I tried for the umpteenth time to get a vaccination appt - without success - she saw my dejected posts on FaceBook and contacted me. She said "I'm a member of a group that helps people get apprts. Maybe I can help you...."

For someone like me whose body has been beaten up by Crohn's disease and the cardiac damage that can cause, by cancer, by a severely depleted immune system and a host of other things....Covid is a terrifying possibility. I've dealt with Covid by staying inside alone. A lot. A real, real lot. I was bored, then lonely, then depressed, then anxious, then back to bored...and round and round and round. Much like everyone else, I realize, but even so.

So when A. said to me she might be able to help - it was almost too much to hope for.

But 30 minutes later, I had an appointment.

Sorry...WHAT??

I've said it before, but it remains strikingly true: PriceScope is so much more than jewelry. PriceScope, like any group, is only as good as its members. But it just so happens that so many of its members are wonderful, stellar human beings.

@atroop711 - thank you from the bottom of my heart. I bless the day you wandered onto one of my threads and offered me your friendship. <3

So now - anyone else? What's something good that's happened in your life because of someone you met on PS? Something you read? Information or advice you were given? So much great stuff happens here - tell us about something wonderful that another PSer did for you!

The best thing to come out of being a member of PS are the friends I’ve made here. 3 years ago we got the opportunity to go to NY, and I met up with the lovely @missy and her equally lovely husband. The unexpected result of that was that I got to be the lucky new owner of Bella, something that I had never imagined happening. I didn’t even know what an OEC was, but I had previously met another PSer, and once I saw her OEC (that Missy had helped her source), I was totally smitten.

I’ve also been lucky enough to have met another special PSer, who I hope to see again in the not too distant future when we can travel again.

The PSers I’ve met IRL and those I ‘know’ online really are the best bunch of ladies EVER!

Wonderful thread @mrs-b.

Same! It was wonderful meeting @Austina and her DH and an honor passing Bella to her. It makes me so happy knowing she is being loved and worn by my lovely friend Austina ❤️

Also I am so lucky to have met in person and who are now real life friends from pricescope. @LLJsmom a dear friend I met because of pricescope.

@bling_dream19 another beautiful person I’m lucky to call my friend and @Scandinavian @MarionC @Bayek @junebug17 and a few others whose online name escapes me at the moment.

All wonderful individuals who I am so lucky and honored to have met and call friends.

And a few others I’m hoping to meet in real life. People I consider friends now despite not having yet met @mrs-b I’m looking at you ❤️

I met the owner and a bunch of PS people at a party at DeeJays and she and I and a friend are planning a meet up after this is all over. I’m also not far from Karl and Wifey and would love to meet them too!

Because of PS, every day I get to look at IMO most beautiful gems on earth.

Apologies - I deleted my previous post, as I'm not sure it was in keeping with the happiness & joy of this thread.

But let's just say you guys mean a lot to me. You know why & you know who you are.

@Alex T - I dont know what I missed with your post, but if it relates to anything that upsets you, then I'm very sorry to hear it. Wishing you only the best, always.

I've had so much support from PS through illness, I truly wouldn't know where to start. A few names leap to mind tho.....

@TooPatient, @Niffler, @caf, @Polabowla, @Slick1....ugh - I'd need to add another 20 names to make this even half way accurate! But suffice to say - you ladies carried me through my hospital stay in May when pretty much everyone (my doctors, my nurses, my friends and family, ME) thought I was going to die. And @Karl_K - my brother in the faith - no amount of thank you's will suffice.

And when @MollyMalone told me I looked marvelously chic in my hospital gown, it lifted my spirits like nothing else possibly could have.

It's not too much to say that PS supported me right through that hospital stay and a terrifying bout of still-undiagnosed illness. I honestly don't know what I would have done without you all. You may not remember the "please share your favorite photo" group effort you made on my behalf...but I DO! All those wonderful photos...I LOVED them and they lifted every hour of every day I was there!

You can't put a price on that, and I'll never be able to adequately thank you.

HI:

PS: Come for the gems and jewellery--stay for the people. That's what I did. I have genuine/dear friends from this forum.

That said, the educational benefits are outstanding. I have learned SO much here!!!

cheers--Sharon

Initially I came for resetting ideas and I stayed because of the amazing people. Smart, funny, kind, generous, and so much more. Shout out to @rainwood...so grateful to PS for bringing us together.

This is a sort of indirect one.

Years after a poopy marriage and ridiculous divorce, a dear friend found love again with a wonderful man. They are an awesome couple. With information I learned on this site, I helped them to maximize their budget and choose a ring that makes her feel like a princess. Honestly, it's been the greatest thing to see them so happy.

So thanks everyone, for being so generous with your knowledge and for being an unexpected lot of fairy godparents <3

Aww what a heartwarming post @mrs-b I feel the same way!! I too have wholly benefitted from the lovely members of PS. Some pretty special PSers have gotten me though health issues, weddings, pet loss and so much more.
I so enjoy reading PS as it brings me to far away countries and takes me away from my own struggles at the same time.
The bling pics brought me here, the people kept me coming back. I wish I could post more often, however, life has me very busy lately, but I always stop in at least once a day. ♥️

Why is there no <3 button on PS???

(I can't even do proper hearts on my Mac!)

Suffice to say - I can't do it - but I'm feelin' it!!

@Bron357 found a heart shaped-moonstone and sent it to me for the price of postage. It would become my Fiona pendant in memory of our Shetland Sheepdog who passed away. I’ve never met her and yet she very generously sent me a gemstone from her collection.

Also there are just so many wonderful people here, some very (not near) dear friends, and even one who is near and I’ve had the pleasure of antiquing with a few times.

My dream of owning a big beautiful OEC came true because of one lovely PSer. She knows who she is :kiss2:

It truly is the pinnacle of my collection.

I feel the same, @missy!!

PS brings me smiles even at times when they are hard to find in other areas of life. The ladies (and gentlemen) here are examples of just how good people can be.

When DH was laid off and struggling to find work, several reached out to me and passed on a bit of $ that good fortune had brought them. It helped keep the lights on and, even more importantly, gave us both the strength to keep going when we had lost all hope.

Several years ago, I found myself in the hospital not knowing.what was happening. I was able to talk with the amazing people here on PS and several who reached out to me privately. Through hours of pain and sleeplessness and some of the scariest moments of my life, the ladies here kept me calm and looking forward. @missy sent me information on vision issues which helped me understand what was being said and have questions ready for each Dr who made rounds through the day. @ksinger invited me to a group to help me through and is still there as I go through this ever changing disease.

PS has been a place to share excitement of wonderful things and help each other through the sadder parts of life. Finding a group that can share in the laughs and smiles but also pull me forward when I don't think I can keep going. @Karl_K and @mrs-b were among those who kept me tied to the world when I was trying to take care of DH last year.

PS keeps me going throughout the pandemic, it is one of my favourite waste of time.

DK :appl:

The best thing to happen is to have friends that have been made through PS! I've been here 15 years!!! Second best is to have far better quality jewelry than I would have otherwise had!

Friends...people that were there for me in ways I would never have expected and will be forever grateful. And it's not far from the truth for me to say someone gave me advice and counseling that pretty much saved the life of a person very precious and dear to me.

And other friends, who are honest with me, even when we don't agree. It means a lot that they all stay true to who they are. And friends who understand "this jewelry thing".

I’m not crying. Well obviously yes I am this is so moving. I have yet to make the connections you’ve made over the years but hope to one day.

Ditto. I’ve been very encouraged by you and your input and excitement for my ACA. No one IRL in my life gets it.
