The Pierre Hotel has reopened

The lobby still has the feeling of a glamorous 1930''s movie set, but they took away the beautiful old crystal lamps, and I don''t like the new lighting. The paintings in the lobby are not very good. There''s a new restaurant next to the check-in desk. The estate jewelry store is gone

. At least they had the good sense to leave the Rotunda alone. The Cafe'' Pierre still isn''t finished - I hope they don''t mess it up.

A friend of mine held her wedding reception at the Pierre. It was lovely (at more than $500 per person!).
