I am always fascinated with the amazing work done by jewelers and this particular piece got my attention;

I'm referring to the dandelion, if that doesn't come across in the link. I think because Faberge did so many pieces based on nature, it made me think of it.

I think if I were interested in long term investment, I'd pick something like this guy's work. In your grandchildren's time, it could be very valuable. During his time Faberge was also very expensive, but quality costs and lasts.

I like the classic pieces, which never go out of style, and pieces that transcend their medium. I think this work does that.

What do you think?

And while we're wandering around looking at amazing stuff, check this stuff out;

Wow. That dandelion is amazing. I can't believe how realistic it really looks. It's so cool looking! I wish I were that talented at anything (plus, that patient, lol!)

I am in love with the Mexican Fire Opal pictured in the "Phenomenal Gemstones" in the second link you posted!

It is so neat to see gemstones used in ways besides being set in jewelry. I'm sure these are very pricey little tchotchkes!

I'm tempted to snatch that dandelion up and give it a good blow :cheeky: !
