I just watched this movie.

It was more like a diamond curtain than a necklace apparently.

I couldn't buy the main character motive that she did what she did to get back what she lost, her family honor and her family house, as if that made being a con artist OK. I was further turned off when I read that the woman IRL received a pension from the king because of her royal lineage.

I might have enjoyed it (I like historical drama) but I wasn't sympathetic to the main character. It seems like a lot of liberties (maybe too many) were taken with the real story.

JMHO.

haven't seen the movie,but have the soundtrack which was nominated for an Oscar and read the book 'the diamond necklace affair' about twenty years ago(very good book)i want to see the movie.

I never heard this story, Danny. Wow, what an elaborate plot -- hard to believe it really happened, but obviously it must have. I wouldn't have turned that thing down! Sounds like the movie turned the plot around. Haven't seen it though.
