Fellow PSer's,

Just a little post to say thanks for all your help without even knowing it. Hubby in in the army and has been away 9+ months this year - his first deployment and certainly the longest time we've ever spent apart.

It has been very lonely at times as I have no family living close by and no children yet BUT I always feel welcome on this online community. :wavey:

He gets back very soon and obviously I'm very happy. So thanks again for keeping me distracted and sane this year! :appl:

Awwwwwww. One of the unsung heros waiting at home! God Bless. So glad he's coming home!

Hooray for a homecoming soon! Congratulations on you BOTH making it through this first deployment! I promise you the first one is the toughest. :appl: :appl: :appl:

I am glad that this community has helped you through the deployment! They can definitely be rough and it helps to have somewhere that you feel connected with others. I agree with sonnyjane, the first is the worst-it gets better from here.

Anyways, lets focus on the good now....YAY for your hubby coming home soon!! The anticipation and excitement has to be building up like crazy!!!

How exciting your DH is coming home! Hooray!! Being with kindred spirits on PS is a good feeling, isn't it?

How many days till his return?

If she knows, she isn't allowed to say, but hopefully SOON!!!

You are not allowed to say when you are returning? I'm not military so I'm not familiar with the rules! Fingers crossed its not a long wait!

No. It's a violation of OPSEC (Operational Security) and you can get in a lot of trouble for giving dates. Knowing the exact dates puts them in danger while travelling. In fact, he is not even technically allowed to tell his wife when they are coming home. He can get in trouble as well. During my husband's first deployment to Iraq, one of the wives posted on her facebook account when they were scheduled to come home, and as a result, they cancelled the flights and made them stay two more weeks!

AAAAACK,!! Holy cow the other SOs must have been pissed w her!! 2 extra weeks of waiting.... :nono:

No problem. I was half telling you, and half reminding the OP since she said it's her first deployment and a lot of people don't know the rules or just get so excited about homecoming that they forget. I would hate for any unnecessary delays of her hubby's return! :twirl:

Hugs to you HP. :wavey:

Wonderful news that he's coming home! :appl: :appl: Those last three months just drag on, don' t they?!!

Oh yes now I know when exactly he is coming but I'm definitely not allowed to post it online! You have to be super careful that anything you say over the phone, or via email/Facebook doesnt give details away that could be harmful him and his troops. So lots of one sided conversations this year...

It's been a long year but verrrrry happy and super proud of him.

Thanks again everyone. :wavey:

That's wonderful news HotPozzum!! Sending you and your family buckets of good luck dust for your dh's safe return to you!!!!

I am so happy for you Hotpozzum! That must have been so hard. I am happy your hubby is safe and so grateful for his and your service.
Hope your reunion is fantastic! I see you have had a Doxie to keep you company. We have two, they are the best!

Yay! I'm so happy for you! Lots of dust for a safe travels to him and the other men and women coming home with him!

:appl: Very happy for you both!
