My heart goes out to families in the latest terror attack in London. I know that we are increasingly living in a world where terrorists do these things but specifically attacking a concern full of children and young people reaches a new all time low.

I read about it this morning. What a horrible tragedy. Manchester is a great city. It will overcome!

Incredibly sad. I've heard that 19 people died. Horrific.

It is really awful. My heart goes out to all of families who lost someone and those who are injured.

So far 19 are dead and over 30 injured. Families have an internet wall of the missing and they are all faces of innocent children and young people, it's very very sad.

Manchester is about a third of the way up the country whereas London is in the South East, but they are both large and bustling metropolitan cities with diverse cultures and large 'ethnic minority' populations (which seems the wrong phrase when in many places, being a white person with Anglo-Saxon heritage puts you in the minority). Ariana is due to play a concert in London in the next couple of days and Take That are apparently scheduled to play at the Manchester Arena over three days later this week.

It's entirely possible that what I assume is a religion-based attack has killed members of the very religion it was carried out in the name of, but that seems to be just fine in the eyes of those who carry out such attacks...

Latest update I've heard is that 22 people died and 59 injured, with children confirmed amongst the dead. Seemingly a lone man detonated an IED packed with nuts and bolts in the foyer after the concert, killing himself in the process. The investigation is ongoing and I'm sure more news will be forthcoming over the coming days, but it's safe to say that these attacks will never deter the British spirit, only bring us together and make us stronger.

I hope those that have lost people can find some comfort in the fact the innocent victims had just enjoyed something they love and that their passing was quick, although I doubt my words will really help counter what they are currently feeling about such a senseless, cowardly attack.

Yes I saw it was Manchester and there have now been even more people confirmed killed and injured. Most of them are either children or the parents that were waiting outside near the box offices for their children to come out. Mostly teenage girls, children and families. What a gutless senseless act.

Heartless, senseless, pointless killing by completely insane bastards. I am devastated & furious. I live 25 minutes away & my niece is at University here studying music, so works here at weekends. Thankfully she has been at home & has no intention of venturing outside today.

The Arndale shopping centre was evacuated 10 minutes ago due to a new threat. The city is pretty much in lock down.

A 23 year old man has also just been arrested in connection with this disgusting act.

Another horrible senseless cowardly act of terror.:blackeye: My heart goes out to all those affected. Devastatingly sad. Keeping the people of Manchester in my thoughts and prayers. If only our love and good wishes could heal the horror of terrorism.

Particularly cowardly when there were so many children there:angryfire:

Unfortunately, when you're dealing with this level of lunacy and fanaticism, there's nothing, as right minded people, that we can do.

So incredibly sad...by heart goes out to the people of the UK and to the families of the victims.

The mindset of targeting and killing children is incomprehensible to me.

I am so sorry that this happened. It's so sad. People were out with their families to enjoy music. Innocent children and adults living their lives. Feel angry and helpless.

It just makes you not want to even venture outside.

sadly Manchester has had to deal with this before, but came back stronger. I know it will again and the thousands attending the vigil this evening show they won't be cowed by this.

It just makes you not want to even venture outside.

You are a zillion times more likely to die other unnatural ways when venturing outside.
Don't let the terrorists win.

This brings to mind the message behind that 1939 British WWII poster ...
