How's your weather?

Ours is nuts, even for Southern California.
How can it be 87 in the middle of February? :o

I thought El Niño was supposed to flood California off the planet.
Maybe El Niño is next Friday when it's only Mostly Sunny.

Today was beautiful and sunny!
Minus 4 Celcius which is 24.8 Fahrenheit.
I went deer hunting this afternoon and shot several deer, including some bucks! :appl:
Oh, I was shooting with my new camera.

There's nothing like a nice satisfying buck!

Got pics?

Does look like CA is about to be flooded - not a drop of rain in your forecast.

Mine is seasonally appropriate and filled with bone chilling north wind.

I was hoping you'd ask!
About to load them on my laptop now.
If there's any good ones, I'll be back to share them.
If there aren't any good ones, I'll be back with some feeble excuse about a defective memory card. :D

Pics, as requested!

First I had to get warmed-up with the small prey.
Kind of like doing stretches prior to a run.

Next, I went after the big game!

I think mistakes are learning opportunities.
And reviewing the photos I took with my new camera today, I am thrilled to say I had lots of learning opportunities! :appl:

Wow, great pics December-Fire!

It has been warmer than usual here as well. Obviously not California weather, but temps in the mid to upper 40s, almost 60 last weekend. Here's a pic from the trail on Monday:

I love the photo! :appl:
The rays of sunlight give it such a dreamy look! And what a beautiful trail!
Thanks for sharing the photo.

And thanks for the compliment on mine.
I realized upon review that I should have changed one of the settings. And held the camera more steady!
Fortunately, the location is only a 3-minute drive, or less than 15-minute walk from home, so I plan on getting a lot more practice.

Kenny,
Sorry to threadjack.
Is there a 'Share your photos' thread?
Or maybe I should just seek out a photo thread.

December-Fire, just start a photo thread! I bet you will get lots of responses. I can't remember if anyone has ever done a nature pics thread specifically. Obviously we need one!

Wonderful pics!
You're lucky to live near such a beautiful place.

No apologies needed.
I like how threads just wander wherever they go ... much like conversations at a party.

Coincidentally, that's what it is here right now. It's cold in our living room, so I checked the computer for the outside temperature and it's 25 degrees F. That's not at all cold for a normal January or February here (Connecticut in the US), but we have had very, very warm temperatures this year and no one's body has adjusted to the cold.

Wow - that's basically what the temperature was here today in Melbourne! It's been pretty moderate this summer with temps averaging much less than that.

Monarch64,
Thanks for the encouragement! I hope you'll contribute to the new thread.

Kenny,
Thank you! Yes, I'm very fortunate to have beautiful wildlife and natural surroundings so close.
You're obviously very creative with your photography. I hope you'll share more of your photos!
And I like your party conversations analogy. I've always referred to my habit of getting off-track as being 'derailed'.
That's 'derailed', Kenny, not 'deranged'. :D

The DPW is right across from our neighborhood, so we always get plowed first  It sucks but we'll survive. No way to really live up here if you can't handle snow.

Except for a one week vacation I can't handle snow.

... But our weather right now is ridiculous for February!

I had to closed all the windows.
The house was getting too hot even though I'm wearing flip flops, no shirt, and going commando in shorts.! :knockout:

400 miles north of you, I am positively freezing at 70 degrees.

It is still dropping to 40 degrees at night.

I envy you Jordy, heat wave here on the west coast. 42C again today...and tomorrow, then down to the 30s for a bit.

Great pics, December Fire and Monnie!

81 here today in the Phoenix area. This is a problem for us Arizonans as the earlier summer comes, the freaking longer it lasts for us.

Metro NY/NJ here, temp at 6pm is 29 with snow expected tomorrow. It's been so mild and pleasant this winter, that this is the first week I had to bring out the long johns.

Ottawa, the lovely capital of Canada, broke a record yesterday for snowfall in one day; 51.2 cm (20.2 inches).

The previous record for one-day snowfall was 40.6 centimetres (16 inches) set in March 1947.

OK, new record set. Can we now move on to Spring. Please.

This week's temperature has had a range from 62 - 99 degrees farenheit. I'm trying to figure out if it's winter or summer right now
