Some of you might remember my first hair and makeup trial, when my makeup came out great and my hair was lousy. The stylist was working off of my inspiration pics from the American Pie Wedding movie, and it just didn''t work well. After much thought, I realized a big reason I didn''t like it and didn''t have much hope that I''d like the 2nd stab at it was the style just wasn''t ME. So, last night I went to my 2nd trial w/o any photos. I told her that I wanted the bulk of my hair at the crown of my head, softly pulled back from my face in a manner not too far from a loose ponytail, and something kind of "soft, romantic, not tight curls or big barrel curls" up top. I also said I didn''t want it to be a distinct bun shape or something with a hard line between the bun and the rest of my hair. She asked if I was completely against curls, and I said if I had them I''d like them natural and wavy.
For the wedding she''s going to make the updo a little smaller overall (so it fits under my veil a little more smoothly) and loosen up the underside in the back so it''s more textured/flowing like the top. Other than that, I felt SO much prettier and like myself in this style than I did after the first trial! I don''t think hair pins would really "go" with this style (other than the scattered little pins which I''m not a big fan of), but I''m loving the idea of a flower. Anyone who can find me a fabulous flower in the 3-4" range gets a virtual cookie! The not so great one that I tried in the photos is 3" across. Oh, and another cookie for the person with the best guess of just how many pins she used.
