What did you do this summer? lots of walks, biking and jogging outside, bbq''s, mowing the lawn and a few vacations

What are the plans for these final days of summer? enjoying the outdoors

What will you miss the most? the long days for sure! it gets dark waaaay too quick

What are you looking forward to this fall? the cooler nights for sleeping and the fall leaves and hot chocolate and soups

What did you do this summer? Worked, went on vacation, put window boxes on the house
What are the plans for these final days of summer? Plan the fall projects! I loooooove fall.
What will you miss the most? The longer days
What are you looking forward to this fall? The leaves turning colors, the brisker temperatures that should come (though in Atlanta it''s often still 70 in November), FOOTBALL, getting yard work done that can''t be done in the summer heat. Did I mention I love fall?

Yaaaaay! I love the fall, it''s my favorite time of year!

Okay, the survey:

What did you do this summer? I teach, so I was off all summer. I spent most of my days reading on a lounge chair in our backyard, and walking and playing fetch with the pup. We did a lot of landscaping in our front and back yards, I cooked and baked incessantly.

What are the plans for these final days of summer?
We''re cleaning out our garage and purging things we don''t need anymore from the house.

What will you miss the most?
Not working!

What are you looking forward to this fall?
Our annual Apple Fest--we invite all of our friends and family with young kids to go apple picking with us, and then everyone comes back to our house and we make a huge apple-themed feast for dinner. It''s my favorite event of the year!

What did you do this summer? Went to Lake Tahoe, Napa Valley, Sonoma, and Reno for 10 days. In August went to NH and Mystic Ct. Picked strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries.

What are the plans for these final days of summer? Going to make a scarecrow at the Scarecrow Festival and taking some of my friends on some wine tasting in my area.

In 2 weeks going down the shore. I love the Jersey shore in the fall. (We're thinking about buying a house down the shore)

What will you miss the most? Sleeping in since DD was out of school. Now I get up at 6 am with her. (I drive her in to school otherwise she spends and hour on the bus in the morning for a 6 mile drive)

What are you looking forward to this fall? Seeing everyone outside walking their dogs, sitting outside in the evenings in front of the fire pit roasting marshmallows and singing songs (DD's friends hang out here most Friday evenings/nights), sipping hot soup, apple picking and making apple butter, apple pie, etc. All the fall festivals in my area, Scarecrow Festival, the Grand Illumination (Friday before Thanksgiving), and buying some new fall clothes.

Let me preface my reply by saying it is a shame I do not work for the Irish Tourist Bord (or who ever they are) because my replies will really sell a Summer in Ireland to you. That is, if you like rain, rain, light showers, rain, rain, torrential rain and oh yeah... rain.

What did you do this summer? worked, school, went home to Mass three or four times and had a week-long vaca at the Cape!

What are the plans for these final days of summer? Spending as much time outside as possible with FI and the pup. Maybe getting to the beach one final time.

What will you miss the most? Beach weather, although we didn''t get much of it this year in the Northeast

What are you looking forward to this fall? Weekend drives to the country, breakfast & the famer''s market on Saturdays (when I''m off from school), Halloween and pumpkin picking!, Thanksgiving and that feeling when you know Christmas is right around the corner, spending time with family, reading by the fire with a cup of tea and my pooch snuggled next to me, long walks with FI at our special spot upstate, the list goes on...

Fall is my absolute FAVORITE time of year, so I am thrilled

1. We moved twice.
2. Working and continuing to unpack.
3. I''ll miss not being able to sit out by the pool and relax during the weekdays. I''ll also miss the fall in New England.

What did you do this summer?

I took a couple of online classes and basically stayed indoors. We had SUCH a brutal summer with little to no rain (Texas). I also went to Virginia with my DH. One night it got cool enough to wear a long sleeve shirt and I was in HEAVEN. Oh, we also took a couple of mini one-night trips--one to San Antonio and the other to Galveston beach.

What are the plans for these final days of summer?

Probably stay in doors some more. Pray for a cold front. There is really no transition from summer to fall here. School started so I''ve been preoccupied with that.

What will you miss the most?

Nothing, to be honest. I miss the days when I longed for summer.

What are you looking forward to this fall?

Getting some cold fronts from the north. Making my annual "Thanksgiving for 2" meal since neither DH or I have family down here. Christmas shopping. A friend is getting married. My bother might come visit in October. But I WISH I was looking forward to Apple picking, hay rides, pumpkin festivals, night football games, and all of the other wonderful things that you all get to experience! Man, I REALLLLY miss the smell of Fall air!

What did you do this summer? Unfortunately nothing big because of the recession and a very tight budget, but the hubby and I made it a point to go to dinner at the diner and to the movies afterwards every few weeks. So we''ve started a new pattern of getting out of the house and enjoying ourselves for little money. Fifty bucks covers the whole evening.

What are the plans for these final days of summer? To enjoy whatever good weather we have left. Being outside with the dogs, using the grill as much as possible, pruning my perennials, cleaning the cars inside and out to prepare for winter.

What will you miss the most? The sunshine and wearing lighter clothing. I''m kind of partial to capri pants and sandals, but then again, I LOVE sweaters and leather and suede jackets.

What are you looking forward to this fall? It''s going to sound crazy, but I''m actually looking forward to giving my house a deep down cleaning. I always do it before the winter holidays. We love hay rides and pumpkin picking. I''m going to enjoy baking again and making "indoor" food like chicken veggie soup, and heartier things.

1. Worked my a$$ off! 7 days a week for most of it!
2. Get all the bulbs planted, take delivery of my new BGD 5 stone (sooooo excited!)
3. The warmth, all my gardens, the colours outside.
4. Putting my feet up, dressing like a girl, growing my fingernails. Oh and raking leaves (just love to rake leaves!)

BF and I flew down to see family, bought a car and have been driving around and seeing friends and family. It''s been amazing!

What are the plans for these final days of summer?
We''re still on the road and plan on seeing more friends a family, but it looks like we''ll have to start heading back up soon.

What will you miss the most?
Being so carefree. We both have enjoyed not having to worry about anything and just having a good time all of the time. We also love the weather, it may be a bit rainy here but it''s still sunny and I love it.

What are you looking forward to this fall?
I''m not sure, I hope that we''ll figure out what''s going on within the next year or two, but I don''t think that will happen just yet.
