Hey ladies! Just checking in...

How''s everything going? I''m at 16 days out, as is Sabine and Little Miss Sunshine. I think I''m in good shape -- I''m going to try my dress on for the last time at the final fitting on July 1st. I''ve accepted the fact that I didn''t lose any weight for the wedding. I''m sad about it but I know we''ll have a fabulous day, regardless. We''re leaving a few days before the wedding, and I can''t wait to get to the hotel and lounge by the pool -- the calm before the storm, I suppose.

We''ve met with our photographer to go over the details, and we''ve checked in with the florist. The rehearsal dinner is all set. We''re meeting with our DJ tomorrow morning and we''ll go over everything. My mom''s been in touch with the venue/restaurant, and it looks like everything''s all set there, too.

We still need to buy stuff for the welcome bags, and then put the bags together. It looks like only 11 rooms have been booked so far, so we won''t have too many bags to put together. We''re going to wait to assemble everything until we arrive at the hotel, since we''re going to pick up some salt water taffy and other things local to the area.

This might seem like a silly thing to be excited about, but on our last day in QC before we head home, we''re going to the Chateau Frontenac for their famed brunch. Yum!! We still don''t have anything else planned for our honeymoon, but we''ll work on it. There''s no sense of urgency. We may just wing it.

29 days to go....

I just had the final fitting for my dress - all the others were just with the toile (3 fittings) and I never saw the actual fabrics till this evening in anything bigger than a 10" piece, so it was quite frightening going to see it!

I was so happy with it, it was everything I had hoped for and more - but it is a scary dress - I hadn't realised just how heavy it would be. How the heck do you hold up half a ton of silk to walk anywhere, and I don't even have crinolines or petticoats underneath???

My dressmaker is only 26 and has done the most amazing job. For the first time in my life I have a tiny waist and a cleavage. Hooray!

The sleeves are still a bit tight - they look amazing but I've got to spend some time easing the fabric (this was planned). It's cut on the bias so there is quite a bit of give. By the end of the fitting they were feeling much looser, but I've got to keep going until my arms will raise above my head! A bit like wearing in shoes I suppose.

So, dress to pick up tomorrow after final alterations.

I finally fixed up the AV system for the pianist, which was really weighing on my mind so big relief there.

Still to do:

- Marzipan and ice cake - I've bought all the bits for doing this but can't start until the week before the wedding.
- Do all the flowers and decorations - again week before wedding.
- Finish favours
- Print all the Orders of Service/Table Plan/Table Numbers/Menus/Place-Cards
- Finalise ceremony
- Put music onto CDs
- Buy croquet set/Candles/Fake Candles/Nice umbrella in case it rains
- Make banner to cover nasty board on wall
- Take dancing lessons (now bearing in mind enormous size and weight of dress!)
- Get FI's present (antique silver hip-flask) hand-engraved with our monogram
- Buy thank-you cards (I'm getting 100 postcards of the HUGE painting we are getting married in front of!)

So, not tooooooo much still to do

Hey Zoe!

I''m 37 days out. My brain doesn''t seem to be able to wrap itself around that fact and it feels weird. Anyway, I''m having a rather frustrating time these days. The RSVP limit is in 4 days and we have received 22 responses out of 45. I keep being told that happens all the time, but I can''t help feeling disappointed, like people don''t care enough to bother responding.

Anyway, we''ll give them another week after the RSVP limit and start making phone calls.

And I actually had to argue with the lady at the hair salon to get an actual hair trial. I thought that''s what it was when I went to see her, but it wasn''t with the hairdresser who''ll actually do my hair on the day of, and she just looked at my hair and said what I wanted was doable. She said they didn''t do the actual "trying in the hair thing" because people expect the exact same thing and are disappointed.

I told her that I had more chances of being disappointed if I didn''t see it in my hair first, ''cause if I don''t like it I won''t have time to ask her to redo it! She can''t seem to understand that I''m having a morning ceremony (nobody does this here) and I''m on a tight schedule! So, I finally got an appointment on July 26th. She seemed to think it was pointless to do it 1 week before the wedding... At least then if I don''t like it, I have time to find an alternative!

I''ve been going to this salon my whole life, and I''m really disappointed.

I had a slow day at work with too much time to think, so that''s probably why I''m feeling so stressed right now. It can only go up from here! Here''s the things that still need to be done:

- Figure out ceremony and rehearsal with officiant (doing that Saturday morning)
- Plan rehearsal dinner and call WP, readers, ushers and parents (doing that this week-end as well)
- Call people who haven''t RSVP''d (July 12-14)
- Finalize ceremony music (my friend''s getting married on Saturday, so she''ll call me when she won''t be so stressed and busy!)
- Reserve fabric napkins (my sister will do that for me once we have the final number)
- Finalize reception contract (July 19? Unless it can be done on the phone, FI will have to do this one because of my work schedule)
- FI wants to make pew bows with his mom (some time in July, I guess)
- Get final numbers to florist and baker (as soon as I have it...)
- Confirm everything with all the vendors (probably within two weeks of the day)
- Print out place cards (we''re getting the template from the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation)
- Have an actual hair trial (

- Try to avoid tanlines?? (I tan very easily so it''s a nightmare)

I think that''s it! Anyone else more stressed than excited?

Yay Zoe - I know, it went by SO fast!!!!

I am also touching base with everyone - DJ, photographer, florist this week and next...
I have a few little things, picking ceremony readings, place cards and finishing the playlist for the DJ.
I am sure a hundred more "little things" will crop up between now and then, but I am feeling pretty good!!

I have also accepted that I have not lost any weight!! I am just hoping to get a little more of a tan. This is probably the PALEST I have been this time of year in a LONG time, which is kind of ironic considering it''s the one time a lot of people go tanning and such... Oh well - with too much of a tan my (pale) FI and I would look odd in pictures together!

28 days out for me!

It hasn''t hit me yet...

Left to do:

o Select and book wedding day transportation (FI)
o Groom''s attire (FI)
o Put CD’s and songs together for DJ (FI)
o Give DJ list of requested songs
o Give photographer a photo checklist (meeting this weekend)
o Schedule tanning and nail appointments
o Marriage license (1st week July)
o Finalize all vendors
o Finalize food and beverages (Wednesday)
o Wedding day itinerary and give to vendors
o Contact guests that haven’t RSVPed (2nd week July)
o Pick up Steve’s ring
o Visit site for floor plan (Wednesday)
o Create floor plan
o Determine VIP seating for ceremony and reception
o Create “To Bring” list
o Final count to Robbie (week before)
o Pack for wedding night
o Call MAC - Teresa (week of)

Seems like too much!!

Hey ladies! I wanted to revive this and see how you''re all doing. I created a to-do list for the 3 weeks and 4 days left until the wedding, it makes me feel a little more focused and under control.

This week:
- Finish ceremony music plans;
- Get insoles for my wedding shoes.
Next week:
- Call people who haven''t RSVP''d;
- Give final number to florist, caterer, baker and MOH;
- Rent napkins (MOH);
- Start making pew bows, placecards and cardbox (FI).
Week after next:
- Finish vendor confirmations (me) and DIY projects (FI);
- Hair trial (26th)
- Bachelorette party (26th).
Week before the wedding:
- Put together emergency kit;
- Make sure BP knows where they''re supposed to be and when;
- Make sure I have an even tan (

);
- Rehearsal (31st);
- Rehearsal dinner (31st);
- Waxing and manicure appointment (August 1st);
- Set up hall (August 1st);
- Set up church (August 1st).

And that''s it! It''s looking pretty close now...

28 days until we leave for St. Lucia. Dress is done and altered and now being dry cleaned by the store (what a long story!). FI has his suit altered and done yet needs a shirt for underneath. 13 pounds lost and already have a nice base tan because I did not want to be red as a lobster for our photos! So things are going well here. We will meet with our wedding planner for the rest of the details either the day we land or the day after.

May I recommend those who are honeymooning overseas, please go to your doctor and have some emergency meds available for traveler''s GI sickness. Get the prescriptions filled before you leave especially if you have a penicillin allergy. The resort may not have alternatives and who wants to be sick with the crud on your honeymoon. Just my 2 cents!

Take care and good luck with your planning!

Cynthia

Hi Ladies,

It sounds like everyone''s plans are coming along. That''s great! I also wanted to thank you for all the advice, etc. you''ve given me about different things. I know we don''t know each other IRL but I feel like I''ve made a lot of great friends on PS while planning our shindig. I''m so happy for those of you who are getting married soon -- the time goes by so quickly.

We leave for Maine on Thursday and although I''ve been trying to clean our house like a mad woman so we return from our honeymoon to a sparkling place, I''ve come to realize that a little help goes a long way. I''ve broken down and "let" my FI call a cleaning woman to come tomorrow to do the deep cleaning that we haven''t had time to get to. It sounds sad, I know, to have someone else clean your house when you''re perfectly capable of doing it yourself (especially when your house is only one floor and just over 1000 sq. ft.). I have to say though, I''m happy to have the help, even if it''s only temporary.
