So, tomorrow I have an appointment to go and order my strapless wedding gown. Here is my concern.

I am not well endowed. There is not much -there- to hold up a strapless dress.

I present to you, Exhibit A. This is the dress I wore to my engagement party this weekend. Lovely dress, yes. But, even though I had it altered (twice!) it still looked droopy.

Should I rethink the strapless wedding dress? Or will my $3k designer dress have some magic that my $30 gap dress did not?

Exhibit B (how embarrassing!)

And just to show that the dress did not ALWAYS look this bad...

(everyone else in the photos has been cropped to protect the innocent...)

first, I think a wedding gown will be corseted or have boning, and it will be very custom fitted, and I think they know not all women are well endowed. I think I would also look at cups or a great strapless bra, and make sure they put a rubbery strip around the edges of the dress.
You look so cute by the way!!!!

does the dress have boning in it? if so, you''ll be fine--that stuff could hold a dress up on a street lamp! one of my best friends is an a cup if she pads it first, her dress was strapless, and it was beautiful. don''t panic! just make sure your alterations are good, and you should be good to go!

Rockzilla, first of all your are adorable!! I am sure your wedding dress, like others have mentioned, will have boning. I am sure it will fit you perfect.

BTW, I always envied women, who could wear dresses like you. I am big busted and cannot wear the type of dress you have on.

I would wager that your 3K wedding dress won''t creep rockzilla. The alterations department create miracles to ensure that you don''t get the creep. You may need to sew in cups and they need to make sure the waist, empire or not, fits very snug. Most strapless gown have boning, if not, they will likely sew some in if you need it.

btw: Cute dress for $30!!

You look adorable in those photos!!

My wedding gown is strapless. I''m probably a bit smaller in that department than you. It has boning, and it fits so well in the waist, that there is nowhere for it to go. I think as long as it is fitted through the smallest part of your waist, you''re golden!

I think you look realy beautiful, you remind me of young Claire Danes!

I think you''ll find that wedding dresses are altered differently than other garments. They hang differently, are constructed differently....and, really, have ya seen the chickies they send down the runways in wedding dresses? Not exactly Pam Anderson, huh? I think you''ll look great, the strapless style wil look quite elegant on you.

The same thing happens to me with dresses like that!! I was at a wedding kinda sauced wondering if my dress had actually dropped too low at some point while I was boogey''ing, yikes...

And ditto what everyone else said... the wedding dress will be built to stay up!

And ditto on you looking great in that dress, woot!

I was going to say the same thing so ditto.

You have great legs by the way!

I have the same problem as you. Every strapless wedding dress I tried on had boning and practically held itself up... and that''s before alterations. I think you''ll be okay!

You are too cute! The thing about your darling gap dress is that it is probably like 2 layers of cotton and elastic - your wedding dress will be much heavier and sturdy, I am certain that this ''creepage'' will not be happening!

You are going to be the most darling bride!

my strapless dress didn't move the day of. and i really don't care for strapless dresses on me normally because they fall or feel like they're going to. i was very comfy and not at all self conscious of that area.

Hi Rockzilla, first, ditto the ladies. Second, I think I missed the thread with your final gown selection. Can I ask which gown you decided on (and ask for pics?)? Congrats on finding the gown!!!

I decided on the ingrid gown from Amy Kuschel

http://www.amykuschel.com/gowns/ingrid.html

The dress holds a special place in my heart, because it was one of the first dresses I saw with my mom, and has been her (secret) favorite the whole time I''ve been looking. We were supposed to go in together to order it today, but she just started chemotherapy back in MA, so I will be going by myself and sending her a lot of photos!

Below is another model pic I got from a runway show. I can guarantee the dress will look nicer on me, if only because I''ll be smiling =)

And her is the website pic, shows more of the detail on the top, the runway picture shows more the flowiness of the skirt..

Beautiful dress!! That won''t be going anywhere on you rockzilla....except down the aisle in perfection

hi rockzilla, you have nothing to worry about. a wedding dress should always be held up by your waist/hips and therefore the top is held up to cover you. if it is held up by your boobs it is not a good dress. wedding dresses can be really heavy - imagine if we had to carry that weight around our boobs! yikes!

Oh gosh, its gorgeous!!!

Have a set of "chicken cutlets" sewn into your bra. that will make a big difference...plus it will fill you out

I'm an Amy Kushel bride too!!! And, I am very small chested and have experienced the strapless dress creep on more than one occassion. But, fear not. Amy fits her dresses perfectly to your body. I expdress my concerns to Amy, and she explalined that strapless dress tend to creep downwards when they are not fitted properly to your rib cage and waist. If the dress needs to be supported from below, not from the chest area. Since Amy's dresses are made specifically to fit you, it won't be a problem. Promise.

What I wouldn''t do for strapless dress creep!!! Being well endowed is not always fun.... 36 D... (really DD but refuse so I smoosh those puppies in a D.)

I had the "If I sit down with my corset bra my bebies will be brushing up against my chin" problem. And the layers of tape to keep the dress from jutting out.

::sigh:: I envy you that beautiful gown! I could never pull it off! You will look fantastic!

My girlfriend is a sub-A cup and her wedding dress fit her perfectly. In fact, the boning and corsetted bodice made her look bigger than she really is and hers was strapless.

As a side note, I would look into getting a sweatheart neckline, I think it is very complementing.
