Well Whiteflash is usually on the end of having their photos stolen so I can''t imagine that they would steal someone else''s especially considering they have at LEAST one full time photographer on staff...

That being said that *IS* an estate jewelry store so it is possible that the ring is a WF ring and is being sold using the original images WF sent the customer.

I thought it was strange at first...but then when I went back to click on Weston again, the posting for the ring was gone....odd

Hello,

I was looking at our traffic and noticed a spike from this posting. Maybe I can help clear up this matter. I personally take all the photos on westonjewelry.com, and definitely took all the photos associated with this listing:

http://www.westonjewelry.com/1-01ct-radiant-cut-diamond-solitaire-engagement-ring-solid-platinum.html

The shot with the dark background in my hand was taken outside to show the life of the diamond.

I could not find the photo on Whiteflash, maybe they have taken it down?

Ok I am a bit confused.

I was wondering if it was someone trying to stir up trouble somehow as the only way I could find the picture on WF''s "website" was from this person''s link. I couldn''t navigate there myself from their website...totally weird.

I can''t even find the photo on WFs website

I think I can shed some light on this.

As many of you know, we are often on the other end of this (having our photos lifted), so we''re quite sensitive to it. Someone brought this to our attention a few days ago, and we looked into it immediately.

One of our consultants is working on some web design enhancements for us, and one of the sections discusses non-traditional diamond shapes. She finished this section ahead of schedule and our photography department hasn''t yet finished the images to be used for this, so she grabbed images from online to serve as placeholders until our own photography was done. She apparently thought online images without watermarks were in the ''public domain''.

We''re incredibly sorry this happened, and I want to assure everyone we''ve taken swift corrective action on this issue already. We had the photos taken down immediately, and we''ve also communicated back to the consultant about our sensitivity to complying with copyright law. We explained to her that images don''t have to be watermarked to be copyrighted and that ''public domain'' isn''t the same thing as publicly accessible.

We''ve always had our own photographers on staff because we prefer to control the image quality that represents our products. Our current two photographers have been doing some super-creative things lately, and we''ve had great feedback from many of you on our gallery images, so we hope to be doing more of that.

Again, we really regret the confusion this has caused and hope folks can forgive this mistake.
