State Board Dust!

So I'm taking my state boards tomorrow so that I can officially be a licensed RN.

Originally I was going to take it August 7th and I did that because of the bridal shower I was hosting this past weekend/helping host a private ceremony. However, I started studying for the test mid June and ended up doing close to 2,000 questions for practice from that time till now. I started to lose focus and motivation to keep doing more and I was afraid that would negatively impact me if I waited till the 7th.

So, I rescheduled the test for tomorrow. I'm not sure if its a good thing or a bad thing that I'm not nervous.

I feel like I either know it at this point or I dont. Here is to hoping that I do! :knockout:

I'm requesting dust and maybe some prayers so that I can pass! :halo:

Good luck to you AN but I am convinced you will not need it! I never studied for mine and took it about 4 weeks after grad and passed easily. You will do fabulous!!!!

sending out dust and good vibes for you and your exam!

good luck AN!!...no touching PINK tonight.. :wink2:

Good luck, AN! It seems like only yesterday you were working on your application and now you're DONE! How awesome is that?!

Good luck! Here's hoping you'll join the ranks of PS "RN's" real soon - welcome to the club!!!
DUST DUST DUST!!!!

(and what is the "don't touch pink", all about, DF?? I've never heard of that!)

Wow, that's awesome! Hopefully it will be the same for me!

Amber, thank you!

Zoe - I really can't believe how fast time flies. It really does only feel like yesterday that Haven was helping me edit my personal statement.

Enerchi- I didn't know you were an RN! Cool :) What kind of nurse are you? DF and I have an ongoing joke about "pink." Prob a bad idea for me to explain it here

DF - Actually, I thought about bringing it out.

Lots of dust coming your way - best of luck to you!! Sounds like you've done lots of 'homework' in practice - I'm sure it will pay off for you!

Best of luck to you AN, sounds like you've worked very hard and are well prepared so I have a strong feeling you're going to do well! Lots and lots of dust headed your way!

I know you'll do well AN- sending lots of dust your way! :appl:

Not a very good one, because I screwed up on the blood donor thread! :loopy: Worked in Labour and Delivery for the first part of my nursing career and I've been in public health ever since. Started in general area/home visiting, then sexual health, then clinic work and now with vulnerable populations, including hoarding/infestations/mental health. Pretty cool career options - if you find you are in a field you don't like, there's always another path to take.

Good luck tomorrow!!! DUST DUST DUST! (but I'm all about studying - I would never have been as lucky as artdecogirl!!

  No idea! I obviously missed that thread!- but wait till after tomorrow to explain it to me- I don't want to jinx AN on the eve of her big exams!!

Good luck AN!!!

Good luck! I'm sure you will do great. Don't over-think it and sleep well.

Stupid question: what type of nurse is not registered?

Good luck! I'm sure you'll do great!

And Natascha, in the US we have Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs).

Good luck AN, you should be just fine.

Lots of luck coming your way (just in case you need it). I'm sure you'll do well!! :appl: :wavey:

Sending lots of dust your way!!!!! I am sure you will do amazing!

Congrats on being so well prepared, AN! You'll do great!!!

Best of luck AN!!!

HI:

Hope your day went AOK! I recall sitting those exams...and helping a friend study 2 years ago....

Hey guys!

I just got home from the exam.

So usually how it goes is that the minimum questions you can get is 75 and the max is 265.

Lucky me got 265.

I promised myself before I sat down and started that I wouldn't get upset and lose focus if my test did not cut off at 75 or 100ish questions. Good thing I made that promise because when it wasn't shutting off and kept going, I really was getting ready to lose it.

I felt like I studied a lot but there was a lot on there that I didn't know or material that we never covered.

There is something called the Person vue trick which is when you log onto the website after finishing (where you originally registered for the test) and try to schedule another exam. The pop up you want that supposedly means you passed if the one that says you cannot schedule another test. The bad one is the pop up that allows you to register and pay for another test. Apparently it works for everyone.

I got the good one. Official results in two days. I'm really praying. I don't want to go through that again.

Crossing all fingers and toes for you! Sounds like there will soon be cause for celebration.

And seriously, you did it :appl: . The exam sounded like a royal pain and you pulled through even though you knew you could retake it later, that deserves some ice cream IMO. Exams can truly suck and sometimes you just feel like dropping it all but you didn't.

My fingers are crossed too!

Still getting the 'good pop up' on the website so that's a good thing.

I'll officially know on Friday.

Thank you all for the dust regardless of the outcome!!!
