FI and I really don't need anything and things we do we are perfectly capable of procuring on our own. If you can't tell already, i am a horrible gift receiver. They make me so uncomfortable. So i was really dreading the whole wedding gift thing and registrys etc.
So I tell FI that if he wants a registry, he is going to have to do it on his one. Okay by him. He goes down to the store and starts clicking away.
Fast forward to the other day. A friend of ours is on the phone with me and also looking at our registry. She exclaims...wow $80 towels!!! Sheesh Gwen.
To which I am like...huh? So I go and look on the registry. Sure enough, there they are $80 towels, right under the matching washclothes for $14. So I mention to FI, you know...you put $80 towels on our registry, to which he replys that they are bath sheets not towels. For anyone that doesnt get the distinction the average towel is about 4 feet long. these are 6 feet long (and another 10 inches wider). Now, to his credit he is 6 feet five inches tall, so the large towel does make sense. We currently own about 8 bath sheets that he uses (I am only 5 feet tall and use regular the regular towels we have).
Anyway...now I am all uncomfortable that people are going to be looking at this and critisizing us for our "elaborate/over the top" choices. Actually I am afraid they are going to be critisizing me, lol.
When FI and I got together he bought me this adorable coach purse. Before that I used whatever was on sale at payless shoes or something. Anyway, its a great pattern and I love it so i used it alot. Because of this, however, his mother and sister think i am all into labels. They constantly make little comments about it. Like, "oh thats nice, oh but it isnt a name brand so Gwen wouldnt like it". Stuff like that...everytime i see them. I think its just jealousy or something, I dont know i just ignore it because it makes no sense to me but it does sometimes get under my skin.
Anyhow, I can just see them now talking and me and my "expensive tastes"... I am never going to hear the end of it...Like I need a 6 foot long towel...
