Mum called this morning, they are doing a mountain of tests, on just about every system in his body. They don''t know what''s going on at this stage. Now they are talking about his pancreas too. It''s so scary not knowing what''s going on and being so far away. I will keep you guys posted.

Thankyou so much for your wishes.
honey, I know that it''s a hard thing to go through but please try to trust that the doctors are being thorough and they will find out why your Dad has not been well. I will keep Pete in my daily prayers, as well as your Mom and you and your husband. I will pray for your Mom''s strength and her ability to hold it all together during this difficult time. Hopefully this process won''t take very long and you''ll have some answers soon.

I''m so sorry. I hope he gets better soon.

Hey guys. Well, it''s been a big 24 hours. DH and I decided at 10.30am yesterday to fly to Cairns just in case as it was really touch and go. For all you medical mindeds out there, his blood pressure was worse that I thought it was down to 72/42 at one point. didn''t want to waste anymore time seeing if he would improve so we booked the next flight. We arrived at 7pm last night and went straight to the hospital, and although he is still very very sick, he had improved a little and had gone from critical to stable which was such a relief. Then my Mum started apologising for bringing us up here and he had improved but he still have a long way to go and we are very glad we are here. Family is the most important thing, work, school, everything else comes second.

So at the moment, he has pancreatitis, although they are not sure whether its a blockage or tumour or what causing it. At the moment his blood pressure is up to 90/50 and his renal output low but his is fighting on! He even managed a shower this morning but is took a massive amount of energy out of him and he looked a bit worse for wear afterwards, but we are heading back into the hospital soon so we are hoping for a big improvement.

Thankyou all so much for your support and wishes. My Mum was so touched to hear about it and it means so much to us. I will keep you all updated.

I refuse to think about any other option than him getting better. I just can''t at this stage. We have no idea when we are flying back, we are missing work, it''s all a bit stressful. But I know HERE is where I need to me, for me and my family.

Here''s a pic of my beautiful Daddy from our wedding. (plastic fish tie is a long story, family tradition, he got changed between the ceremony and reception to tease me, and made sure the photog snapped this pic - worst outfit ever, his work shorts, hawaiin shirt and plastic fish tie!!!!)

Thanks for the update Honey. I''m glad you and your husband were able to fly out to see your dad. I''m sure it means a lot to him and your mom to have you there. I''m thinking of you and your family during this time.

Honey, I''m so sad to hear your father is ill, but very glad to hear he''s doing better. I too remember that picture from the Newlyweds forum, and how I thought he looks like such a great, funny, loving father!

Pete is in my thoughts, as are your mother, you, and your husband.

I''m sending him tons of dust!

What a great photo! Gotta love a guy with a good sense of humor. That''ll go a long way during his recovery.

Your dad is in my thoughts...
