Leonid or anyone else willing and able to venture a guess,

Looks like the search by cut quality database has gone through a redesign.

Lots of possible questions...

- Will the IS images from company to company be compared against each other unfairly, with respect to the varying lighting conditions employed from one vendor to another?

- Does the image column add value in a substantive way?

- Could we get diameter info in there some kinda way?

- and what is that GA column, anyway?

Discerning consumers want to know!

P.S. Thanks for the drop-down from the Forum option at the top, speeding things along, and saving a step!

Just noticed that, Regular Guy!!! I''m curious, too....what''s up??

Isn't Leonid amazing?
Ira I agree that unless the realistic photo's were all taken in the same environment that they are not that useful for comparison purposes.

The GA will show links to Gem Adviser files. Some dealers who only have Ogi's might need to get someone else to make their Sarin .srn files that can be converted in batches of hundreds in a few seconds with the most recent DiamCalc. into .gem Gem Adviser files. Of course the best way to make the Gem Adviser files is with the far more accurate Octonus Helium scanner.

re non comparable Ideal-scope photo's - Once you have GA files consumers will be able to compare the Ideal-scope images in the Gem adviser ideal-scope view.

The reason I have spent loads of time and money developing an ideal-scope photo system is to establish a standard for this purpose. The uptake on that system has been dismal so far. I am not happy with the current inconsistent standard. I dont mind all that much if no-one uses what I have made - i am not in this for the money - the money comes from my real business - so long as there is reasonable consistency.

But I hope that soon we will have llarge polishing manufacturers selling and supplying their diamonds with files that have been made with the Helium scanner (Helium is they are selling like hot cakes in India) and ideal-scope photo's that are taken with the photo system.

Since most diamonds that these manufacturers produce come into USA as Belgian / Russian / Israeli polished diamonds, it follows that there may be a layer cut out of the pipeline if Pricescope bvendors (and local jewelers) are able to buy directly from these manufacturers. Some of these companies are already giving far more detail than most on their dealer to dealer websites.
