I, like do many, have been following this case and the confirmation of her death/homicide came out a little bit ago. This case screams abuse on so many levels. I truly hope her murderer is held accountable. Having a daughter close to this age just hits home that you just never know what people are capable of.

Heartbreaking.
She seemed such a sweet girl with a wonderful future ahead of her, instead ……..
It bodes poorly for him and his family.
Its one thing to have a huge fight and accidentally in the heat of the moment cause a fatal injury but to then leave her, make bogus text messages, arrive back home without her, his fiancée, the lass who had lived with his family, refuse to speak to her distraught family and have his family response to be “get a lawyer”.
No.
Then 3 days after he “goes for a hike”, after sending another family member to retrieve the car, calling the police to report him “missing”.
No, just no,

Exactly!

We really need to be having a conversation about violence against women, which is mainly perpetrated by a partner - not a stranger. We especially need to have the talk with our daughters.

Agreed. I talk to all four of my kids about this topic and definitely to my daughter. I have been in a situation where I was the victim and somehow it was dismissed by law enforcement (men) that I was somehow over stating the situation. It took me almost losing my life for anyone to actually take me seriously. It still amazes me to this day that so many people made excuses for and harbored the abuser.

Apparently there was an earlier 911 call where a man witnessed “a man slapping a female and chasing her up and down the sidewalk before they got into a van and drove off”.
And the Ranger from the second incident, where Gabby apparently scratched him, telling Gabby that the relationship seemed “toxic” and that Gabby should reconsider continuing the relationship.
I bet that poor Rangers heart has now broken into a million pieces.

Just so sad and tragic. A beautiful young woman gone because someone she cared about couldn't control his anger or emotions. There is always an alternative to this outcome - it is just heartbreaking.

It is very sad. I hope they find him soon. I don't trust his parents. I hope those searching for him are going on more than what
his parents have said.

I saw an interview with someone who claimed to be a good friend of Gabby's. They said they didn't know Brian very well because
he didn't hang out with them. I found that odd that someone who is a good friend didn't know her boyfriend. Other comments
have claimed that he tried to keep her away from her group of friends. All the signs of an abusive relationship. So sad.

He did it, everyone knows it, and it's just a matter of time until they find him. Dead or alive. Hopefully the publicity this is getting will point the spotlight at the problem of domestic abuse and violence even more.
My brother is a homicide detective on the federal level. I was asking him about this case. All of his speculations about what happened have been proven true as more evidence comes to light. Sadly this is so common. This is the norm for women who "go missing". It's usually always the husband/boyfriend/fiance/someone who knows the victim.
My brother has as really good "cop gut", and his instincts usually are dead on. I asked him "do you think Brian got eaten by alligators out there, whether he was already dead or alive?" and my brother's response is what we're all thinking:

"we can only hope".

Laundrie’s parents’ behavior is also infuriating. The refused to talk to Gabby’s parents when he arrived home alone. They obviously know what happened and I hope that they will also be prosecuted for withholding evidence or some sort of “aiding and abetting” crime. I was also wondering what took so long for Gabby‘s parents to report her officially missing and I read that they tried but things are very complicated because they were in a different state. Ugh the whole thing is just so sad.

Agree.
His parents have to known something was amiss.
He comes home “just like that” without his fiancée but with her van and no questions are asked ??
Gabby had lived with this family. She wasn’t some new, random travelling friend who might have decided to go a seperate way. Furthermore her parents were frantically trying to find out what had happened, where she was, why they couldn’t get in contact with her and he and his family got lawyers and refused to speak to either Gabbys distraught parents or the Police.
He then goes “for a hike” and it takes his parents 3 days to say “ohhh, he’s not here, he is missing”.
Really!
As for Gabbys parents reporting her missing, Gabby was an adult, she was travelling with her fiancée through wilderness areas. The police can’t get involved until there is some evidence / reason for the situation to be considered abnormal. I’m sure they were trying for many days prior to the “offical status of missing” to get the Police to listen/ understand that there was something strange and out of character about the situation.
Tragic.
I hope that anyone involved, in whatever way, feels the full force of the law and is punished appropriately.

It’s just awful. What is wrong with some men? We’ve just had a case here in the U.K. where a so called “boyfriend” murdered a woman, her 2 kids, AND another child who was in the house for a sleepover. Is it rage? Mental illness? I hope there is a special place in hell for them.

Gabby lived with his family for a year. A year. And they have so little feeling or caring towards what happened to her? Of course they know and of course they are protecting him. Just disgusting. And tell me there is no evil in this world. There is evil and it lies in the heart of (some) people. :(

The second I read that she was missing I knew she was gone. The fact that Laundrie left without her and lawyered up immediately solidified the theory as fact in my mind. I can't wait until his sorry ass is found--he's hiked hundreds of miles on the AT and I feel pretty certain that's where he's hiding out. People have speculated he's in Cuba, or that his parents assisted him in leaving the country, but I don't think he went anywhere he's never been. I think he knows the AT and had plenty of time to put together a solid stash of supplies to get him through winter on the trail.

As for the abusive relationship, I've seen several vids of him yukking it up with the police officer who was called out (by a 3rd party who saw them hitting each other) and it's classic abuser behavior. Instead of blaming Gabby for not seeing it or staying with him or telling women to watch out for abusive men, WE NEED TO BE TEACHING OUR SONS NOT TO ABUSE/ASSAULT/KILL/RAPE WOMEN. Period.

It's sad for her family and My heart gies out to them.

But parents actively helping their son with all the facts they had?

Makes me sick. But yeah, SHOULDN'T have surprised me. Murderers have parents and in this case anyone can figure there's something WRONG in that family.

It's just terrible. That poor young woman. She must have been so frightened! What a dreadful waste of a promising young life. I hope her murderer is brought to justice.

And I also hope the Laundrie parents are charged with obstructing the cause of justice.

NEWSSSSS!!!!

WTF!!!! When you know, you know

After digging into the email that created the account, it was discovered the phone number that created the fake Instagram profile matches up with Brian Laundrie’s mom. While the search didn’t reveal the full number, it did reveal the number ended in the same two digits as Brian’s mother

She attempted to hack an account? That is a federal crime.

It's easy to click on the username and sort out the code to find the source. Not exactly a hack

I am a dinosaur when it comes to tech.

Don’t know of course, but I bet Mommy Laundrie never believed her son had any mental health difficulties or personality deficits (he’s just caring and empathetic and just so sensitive) until “Gabbie made him that way”.

If her son does have any mental health issues, I wouldn’t be surprised if mommy thought it was a contagious condition. Like an STD.

I’m seeing this trend even with my son’s classmates. There have been a couple of kids at his preschool and now his elementary school that have violent tendencies. I’m talking more than just your typical pushing. Incidences of choking, slamming another child’s head into the concrete etc and the parents just seem completely in denial. One Mom said that her son’s behavior was normal but came across as abnormal because he was so strong

As a Mom myself, nobody likes to hear their child is the problem. But if parents can’t admit their child has a problem and seek help from a young age when the child is most impressionable, then this goes on to snowball into adulthood. It sounds like Brian always got his way and his family constantly shielded him from consequences to the point where they’ve now done themselves in.

It appears that his parents knew and helped him escape. I‘ll never understand how they refused to talk to her parents while she was missing. As a mother, his mom had to know their pain.

His parents belong in prison for the part they played in not helping law enforcement find Gabby and bring her home to her parents. They had to know their son did something terribly wrong even if they didn’t know exactly what he did.

The photos and video of her sitting in the back of the police car showed how vulnerable she was. i wish her parents never had see that. I’m sure that will haunt them forever.

I’m sorry for your family’s loss @autumngems.

I suspect that he’s out of the country by now. I hope I’m wrong. I hope he’s found and brought to trial.

My lads are 23 and 19. No way in h*ll one would come back without her (after living in our home for over a year), and I wouldn't be all over the question "where is she??".

I love my lads but I know when they're lying. If my boy had done this, I'd love him forever, but together we're going forward and taking responsibility.

What he did sickens me. What they're doing to help him escape enrages me.

That’s what bothers me most. I keep sitting here thinking about how this guy‘s parents supposedly didn’t grill him to find out why he was back home alone…yeah right. The second I heard this guy wasn’t talking I knew that he’d killed her...and I don’t even know the guy. His parents definitely know what he did and they helped him get away anyway. :x2
