Hi All!
I want take this opportunity to introduce myself to all of you wonderful ladies. I''m a bigtime ex-lurker and I just got engaged to my wonderful man on July 4th! Let the wedding planning begin - we''re hoping to have an October 2009 wedding, but figuring out the location is our first challenge. My Fiance’s (!!) extended family lives in Italy while mine is here. We''re on our way to the Amalfi Coast later this week to vacation, scope out some venues, and I''ll finally be meeting his whole family. Then we''re back home to look at venues, probably in the NJ/PA area.

Any suggestions for a new excited, anxious, and a little freaked out bride to be?? I can''t even begin to imaging planning a wedding - I feel like its taking on another full time job!

I just love reading about all of your adventures and the ups and downs of wedding planning. I can''t wait to chat more and fire off the approximately 80million questions I have.

Thanks for letting me say hi!

Welcome Luvbug!

I think you''re starting off perfectly by scoping out some venues...do you have a feeling whether you''ll end up having it in Italy or at home?

meresal - Thanks for the welcome!

claudinam - I think we''re leaning toward having the wedding in Italy and maybe a small reception at home for my elderly family members and others that wouldn''t be able to make it. I''ve never been to the Amalfi Coast, but it looks spectacular for a wedding and I love the idea of the setting being the star of the show. If I love it as much as I think I will, we''ll definitely have it there. I''m leaving tonight for Italy so hopefully I’ll know soon!

HAVE IT IN ITALY! This is a no-brainer. Wait until you see the Amalfi Coast. That will seal it for you.

Hi!

Wedding planning is SO fun! Congrats and good luck with everything! For me choosing the caterer and the menu, cake tasting and dress shopping were my favorite parts! You have a decent amount of time to plan! I got engaged exactly one year and 3 days before the big day (Dec 27, 08) but I didn''t start planning right away! Now, I''m almost finished and CANNOT wait for the big day!! Have fun with it! And Italy?! How romantic!

Wow another vote for...ITALY!!!
