I'm still attempting to get my sapphire from Gem Rite set. Some of you may remember my difficulty with Beyond Jewelry.

So, I decided to try LOGR, since I can return within the US.

I ordered this $285 setting;

http://www.ebay.com/itm/5mm-4mm-ROUND-CUT-REAL-14K-WHITE-GOLD-3-STONE-ENGAGEMENT-SEMI-MOUNT-RING-SETTING-/370556640451?pt=US_Fine_Rings&hash=item5646e59cc3

Instead, I got this $1085 ring today;

http://www.ebay.com/itm/HEAVY-Pave-1-04ct-DIAMOND-Solid-14K-WHITE-GOLD-WEDDING-Half-Eternity-BAND-RING-7-/370610417932?pt=US_Wedding_Bands_with_Diamonds_Gemstones&hash=item564a1a310c#ht_10386wt_1219

Please mom, can I keep him? It's VERY sparkly, and blingy. :cheeky: It's a bit small, but I'm up to having it sized by my local jeweler.

Tell me again why I have to be the good guy? :saint:

Go go go, iLander -- that is just a beauty! Me, drool all over my desk.

whoa! someone made a slight adjustment to your order!!! Hmmm... I see your quandry.... :Up_to_something:

I'm sure mix up's happen all the time... or things get lost in the mail.... hmmm....

Tell them you have psychic abilities and you STRONGLY have an idea where they misplaced a ring.......

No, you're not hallucinating, I asked that this thread be moved from Colored Stones.

@JewelFreak; Doesn't it seem like I have NO luck on my internet orders, lately? I tried it on and DD said it made me look like a rapper's girl friend. Hey! It could happen!

@ Enerchi; I misquoted, apparently I have received a $1,800 ring. Or did I? . . . :Up_to_something: :Up_to_something:

@ TravelingGal;    I could say "it's right next to a woman who is feeling a deep moral conflict". :D

I think you received the right ring. End of story. :wink2:

Yo homies! My girl got her bling on!

I think that ring know where to find a good home :Up_to_something:

So I got a long email from Lord of Gem Rings this a.m., which boils down to me going all the way down to the post office, standing in line, and spending my time and money (they said they will pay my return shipping, but how?) to send this thing back. Plus they didn't sound nearly grateful enough that I'm returning this shiny thing of my own volition.

Which one is the pouty emotie? This one?

I am tempted to say forget my original order, because if they screw that up TOO, I will have to do this again. Which I hate doing.

Pout! (Is it this one? ::) )

Should I just give up on my original setting?

Although I think you did the right thing, I don't blame you one bit for hating having to go out of your way to stand in line to rectify their mistake. They should have arranged for FedEx, or whoever to pick it up at your house or place of employent, if you ask me.

I don't see a pouting emotie there...I'd go with either of the eyerolls, myself:  or  , but that's just me.

As for the other setting, I don't know what I'd do, either, but I do hope they reimburse you for the return shipping. They should buy you lunch, too!

I know, right?!!

I told them to just cancel the whole order, the heck with it.

Obviously this is just not meant to be.

Maybe someday I'll go to ID jewelry and see what they have.

Well, if that's what it takes to keep it.....can't you find a nice rapper out there?

You're a great girl for letting them know. Tell them if they want it, to come get it. What a pain for you to go to the P.O. & pay for shipping. If they send you a check, it should be wrapped around a bottle of Pol Roger or something.

How honest you are and probably the right thing to do.

How CRAPPY THEY ARE for making you waste your time and effort on THEIR mistake! I agree, they should have sent a Fedex agent to pick it up and there should be some major/even minor, perk involved for your effort. Humph. It sucks being the good guy all the time, when it isn't appreciated, doesn't it?? Not fair - but you will sleep better at night....

Firstly, you're a wonderful person to have done the right thing! Secondly, I have to say that I'm even less likely to do business w/LOGR now. I second (third?) the sentiment of telling them that if they want it, they can send someone to pick it up! :angryfire:

Wow, iLander, I know you pride yourself in your honesty, so all kidding aside, you did what you had to do, But KA-CHING! Can you email them back and say that you are not able bodied enough to get to the post office (you find your arms inadvertently wrapping around the handles to the refrigerator/banister railings/your piano legs at the very thought of returning the ring) and so how do they want to handle the return? It seems that if they want it badly enough, they should be able to improvise a solution.

In the past when they have reimbursed me for return postage, I just told them what it was - they took my word for it. $1,800 for return postage should do it, don't you think?

Yes, you did the right thing.

However, I would answer their email saying that you are unable to ship it yourself and could they please arrange for pickup. Or, at the very least, insist on getting the postage money upfront. They screwed up, not you, and they should be trying a little harder to fix the mess.

Absolutely.

You've already made one unnecessary trip to the post office due to their mistake. You should not have to make another trip to fix their mistake.

+1 They shouldn't be inconveniencing you, for a mistake they made!

Too late.

I went to the post office yesterday. 8) (don't yell at me! :D )

I don't like to be responsible for things that aren't mine, for even a second longer than I have to be.

When I get gemstones from cutters, and I don't care for them, I return them same day or next day.

To their credit, they immediately refunded my money and paid the shipping, when I sent them the tracking number. They don't actually have the ring in hand (it's winding through the mail), but they refunded anyway. They were also a bit more grateful in the last couple of emails.

I told them to just cancel my order for the other ring, it doesn't seem worth it.

Do you think the person that ordered the blingy ring, got mine instead, and opened the box and saw a hunk of metal with no diamonds? I bet they had a coronary!

Wow! Not nice of them! They could have sent a prepaid shipping label or something.
