We have an eat-in kitchen, but it''s not very big. We''re looking for a square, 36" table for the space... if it had a leaf that would be great.

Anyone have brand/store suggestions??

The picture didn''t copy, but it is from Pier1.com.

2065013 20" x 18" x 38"

i have an "older"...perhaps considered antique or a copy of one....table that reduces down to 24 inches and expands to 96 inches with inserts. check 2nd hand places and refinish. also Ikea carries what you're describing.

Ditto IKEA, they have a lot of options that would work.

we have a table that has a leaf, but the neat thing about it, is that the leaf drops down into the table and makes a round table. its two tone wood stain, we love it, so less of a hassle to store the leaf,

oh duh.. you're looking for square shape- sorry guess mine won't help

Wow, that would be perfect, but we don''t want counter height. We have a low window right next to the eating area that we don''t want to block. I may have to sort through the pier1 options though, very cute!

I have the Shayne kitchen table from Pottery Barn. With the end pieces up, it''s oval...but with them down, it''s a square-ish shape. And the under table storage is really cute...I love it!

I like that one, but I know FI won''t... for some reason he doesn''t like the drop down end pieces! It''s a very pretty table though... do you have it in white?

I might look at Ikea again. The last time I was there they all looked a little "cheap" to me... but I wasn''t really looking for this size. I''ll have to make a trip to the store soon and see what''s there!

Who knew picking out a table would be so difficult?!

We have this one, from West Elm:

Angled Leg Expandable Table

It's a bit bigger than what you wanted (42 inches square), but it has a cool expansion system (hidden leaf inside). There's also a 36 inch table available at West Elm, but it doesn't expand:

Ooh I love both of those. I think it''s going to be hard to find a 36" square that expands. Maybe I''ll remeasure and see if the first one could work :)

Hi I just bought a table from ikea- it starts with an L can''t remember the name right now. It has gatelegs and so drops down to 2 ft by 3 ft and seats as many as 8 but probably 6 more comfortably!

I do have it in the white...and I paired it with the "X" back chairs...and I love it!

musincy, in a small space a glass top table might help to keep the space look open. i have this one from crate and barrel with the larger 60" top but there is also a smaller version available. i use it with X back chairs as well.
