LiW Slightly disturbing engagement story...

Two friends of mine recently got engaged in Las Vegas.

The plan was for him to propose to her on the last night there, at the top of the "Eiffel Tower" in the Paris Hotel on the Strip.

Unfortunately, he got extremely sick the last day they were there, and they didn''t end up leaving the hotel room at all. He had a serious case of the runs (TMI - but funny!) -- and so she got her proposal laying on the hotel bed, in between trips to the toilet.

And they say romance is dead!

I know! When SO told me the story, I laughed my butt off.

So then he and I got into a discussion about ridiculous proposals. He''s teasing me about doing something completely silly...

BUT.. he''s asking my mom for the ring when she comes in to visit in 2 weeks!

Actually I kinda think that''s sweet. Sure, he COULD have waited but he didn''t...which means he probably couldn''t wait to give it to her. To me that''s one of the most romantic things I could ever imagine.

Haha, sorry. Didn't mean to get you in trouble at work HOH!!

Although, deciding to do the proposal while he was sick, he probably TOTALLY had to give up any potential post-engagement nookie. LOL

And besides, this will make a much better story over time!!! I mean c''mon, it''s better than the fake Eiffel Tower! Congrats to your friend!! (And I hope the guy is feeling better!)

Totally agree!! I mean it was sweet, but seriously it really doesn''t seem to special because they can''t both just enjoy that special moment together. I personally would be upset. Maybe that is just me!?!

Sounds like something that would happen to me. See ladies, THIS is why one shouldn''t place all their bets on a "perfect" proposal.

Honestly, I think its sweet. You aren''t truly comfortable w/ your SO until one of you has the runs. I remember a time when having him hear me pee was mortifying. Now, its different LOL.

It's not a horrible proposal, just bad timing. That's hilarious, but poor guy just wanted to get it over with!
