Side by side, yes.
If they are not side by side, maybe only you would notice the difference because you are used to the 2.3 ct.
I think since you have a three stone you will notice the size difference, more than you would if you just had a solitaire - you have those two sidestones as easy size references.Date: 12/29/2009 12:47:38 PM

How big of a difference do you think it would take for me to see the size difference? I feel like Id have to go to 4 carats to be impressed. The price upgrade is only like $1500.. but perhaps not worth the hassle? With the new upgrade policy I'd only get a 70% trade up credit if I wanted to go up again since this diamond isn't on 'the list'. Maybe I should skip it? Oh why oh why can't I be endlessly weathly.

Here's a pic I posted a few months ago.
Centrestone in L. pic is 5.95mm, centrestone in middle pic is 6.5mm, same sidestone sizes.
The difference is definitely visible![]()

Yssie but the OP''s is a 2.3 carat which is about 8.6mm in diameter.
A 40 point weight change will be less noticeable on a 8.6mm stone than on a 6mm stone.
Also BTW you posted a .4 mm difference; not a 40 point difference.
IOW, adding 40 points to a heavier stone results in LESS diameter increase than the same 40 point would on a lighter stone.

Honestly, I think this would be the biggest change for you! Get a simple solitaire setting and see what you think!Date: 12/30/2009 1:12:25 AM

Actually my diamond is a princess cut stone, not a round, so the difference is between a 7.4 vs 8mm stone actually. I really need to look into round stones, a 2 1/2 carat round must look HUGE
