An embryo that implants and stays put till birth.

It''s probable that over 50% of pregnancies miscarry before implantation, and of those that do implant a further 30% will miscarry in the first few days, after which 25% will miscarry. So, all in all of every 100 fertilised eggs only 26 will go on to actually be born.

Once you''re over 35, your chance of miscarriage rises from 6.4% to 14.7%.

It''s amazing so many babies are born at all!
