I am looking for a setting for my partner (already have the diamond), she likes the Tiffany designs so just wanted to know if anyone here knows of any places in UK that are able to help with a good variety to pick from?

Seems like this sort of a demand is met quiet well in US and online however I have not seen much from UK.

Cheers,
Max

From one Brit to another Welcome!

This is a tricky one, easy enough to do online from any vendor, but here...... Do you mean an actual Tiffany solitaire replica with the band etc or just a simple six prong solitaire? You could try a good rep jeweller who does custom work here, what area are you in? Hatton Garden in London might be able to help or I don't know if maybe you could order the setting from a Stateside vendor and have it shipped and set here, but I think some only sell the settings with the centre diamond. Maybe a local guy might be your best bet if you can find a good bespoke jewellery designer or setter, they should be able to reproduce what you want without too much trouble. You could always try Google UK to see what is available in your area and good old Yellow Pages. Hope this help

Thanks, have not actually picked the ''perfect'' one as I was concerned with the quality of the setting, ie everyone''s opinion of ''replica'' is different.

Its for a princess cut diamond so the 6-prong wont do.

Might continue googling :-)

Oops bad me for assuming you meant a round. I was looking for you and found This site when I was thinking a classic round Tiffany 6 prong, but it is a British website and it may be worth looking through it for Princess settings in that case. So you mean then a simple Princess solitaire setting? That is also what I meant about the quality of a replica in the Tiffany, many call a plain 6 prong a Tiffany but they aren't in actuality - there are differences.

Yeah, simple/modern design is what we are after. Seems like antique & victorian designs are more popular in UK (?) as majority of the websites feature those as primary offerings.

Check out the website I posted in my above post, go to settings for engagement rings, they do have some good Princess ones as I looked. Also you could go the custom route. A friend recently had her old wedding band melted down and refashioned into a new ring for her anniversary with diamonds added. The end result was terrific and not too expensive, a local jewellery designer did it for her so this might be an option to go have the setting made for you.

Thanks for that, by the looks of things these guys is an offshoot internet based shop of a Canadian company. Actually I think the UK numbers divert to the US/Canadian based phone answering service.

Appreciate you looking, might wonder around Hatton Garden.

Cheers,
Max

Your'e welcome. I think Hatton Garden might be your best bet. I am not sure but a while ago I think I remember seeing Blue Nile or Mondera have an online service for the UK, might be worth checking that out too. Good luck!

Hi Max,

I know a very reputable jeweller who designs jewellery and also undertakes repair work for the trade (Established over 50-years ago). He is based in York, and his standard of work and prices cannot be beaten. I recently had two rings designed and made by this guy, and I was absolutely over the moon with them. He also redesigned my wedding ring, to fit my ering. He can make a design that is absolutely unique, or a 'classic' design (in any metal). Have a look at his website at

www.acejewellery.com or you can email Bob or Vince yourself at the following email account

I can wholeheartedly recommend his work. If you decide to contact Bob, tell him that Dyanne in Littleborough has recommended you.

This is a workshop dedictated to the highest quality, far superior to anything you will get on the high street. (He's a Yorkshire man, so you ain't going to be quoted silly inflated prices).

Good luck...dyanne (littleborough, lancashire)

Thanks Dyanne, will give it a go.

Funny thing, just rang around shops listed in http://www.hatton-garden.net/, and it seems that most of them are not very happy with the fact that I will not be buying the diamond from them. Most are either quoting £1K+ upfront with ''normally cheaper with a diamond but...'' and others just blunt ''no''.
