Silly question! What does &nbsp mean?

I keep seeing &nbsp and for the life of me I can''t figure it out!!

Its just code (html i believe). It means leave a space... im not sure why it shows up the way it does (you really arent supposed to see it), but i see it too... just ignore it and know it supposed to be a space between words.

*Edited to add: Notice how in your thread title, it added an extra space between the words instead of writting the code?

I seem to notice it when something is quoted in a reply....where a smiley was in the original post. Just ignore it
