I used my delux SI US today and I have to say the noise is aweful. It ticks and buzzes etc. My dogs had to be put outside because they were losing there minds? Can anyone console me and say this is normal?

Sorry about starting a new thread... I just didn''t have the time and dedication to put into reading the enormous previous thread. Thanks to swift responses... my BF was sure it was going to explode!

I lent mine today to a friend and warned her about the noise. I told her it kinda sounds like a bug zapper. At least she''s been warned, she has 2 cats. My dogs got used to it but hubby didn''t.

Yes, ticks and buzzes normal. Pets don''t like it so much, but diamonds do.

I have the same unit, it's normal. All worth it for sparkling clean diamonds.

I believe someone once described it as the sound of "crickets mating," LOL.

They did!

I just put it in the bathroom, close the door, then close the bedroom door. That pretty much takes care of it.

I''m actually thinking about getting this. Does it live up to all the hype?

Definetly! my mom has been referring to her diamond as "glass" or "flat plastic" for YEARS. Since I don''t have mine to clean yet we immediatly cleaned hers and she CANNOT STOP STARING! She said she didn''t even remember it COULD look so clear and sparkly! I made her promise she won''t look when driving as to be safe!

Absolutely normal. I read all of the old threads and bought one for my mom''s bday this year. It''s a bug zapper, but gets those sparklies nice and clean! Surprisingly, my psycho dogs aren''t bothered by it. They took a look for a second, then walked away. =)

Totally worth it. If only because it makes me way less paranoid about dirtying my ring if I have to (sticking my fingers in ground beef at a friend''s house, for instance. Not that it''s a common occurence to go to friend''s homes and hunt around for mincemeat or anything...) I won''t take off my rings outside my house for fear of losing them, so it''s nice to know what whatever the conditions may be, I can come home and start them crickets-a-matin'' and have a sparkly ring.
