Weird stuff lying around the house?

It''s an architect. I use it for DIY, grocery shopping, parenting and some other stuff. Very handy.

Jen, you beat me too it! I''ve got one of those lying around the house too!

My other seriously weird thing that lives in my house is this - I call it ''The Ritz''. I wonder if anyone can guess what it is ......
They''re great, aren''t they?

Now, I have no clue as to what your thing is. I''m going to guess beehive? Am I even close?

Oh Storm, you''re not weird honey, not around here any how. You gotta remember who you''re talking to! Maybe a tad eccentric perhaps?

Hi Gailey

"It" seems to have a place of honour in your livingroom/family room...hmmm...*rubs chin & ponders*

Is it a stackable urn for your dearly departed? I''m sure you''d want them staying in the comfort of the "The Ritz" in the afterlife?
9.gif

Either that, or it''s an eco-friendly de-hydrator/smoker for making jerky?

Hey Alyson,

That picture was taken just after I had un-packed it and put it together. Here''s a more realistic one, although it no longer lives under the table because as I added new tiers it got to be too tall. But it still has pride of place in my hallway.

I''m a fanatical composter, but in Calgary in the winter you can''t compost outside, so my babies do it for me. They are my low tech garburator. I freeze all my veg peelings and leftovers, that way I don''t get problems with fruit flies and thaw it out and feed it to them along with soaked cardboard or newspaper. I also give them handfulls of my home made shredded compost from the outside composter.

No, I don''t feed them to the fish.

I''m just charging the camera for a photo shoot.

crystal spheres and points. I love stones and collect rocks

oooh! I love your crystals- so gorgeous. I''m starting a small collection myself. So far I have a small clear quartz crystal with neat horizontal striations, and this weekend my FI is bringing me a crystal orb that was gifted to me.
One day I''m hoping to get crystal singing bowls

I love all your cool crystals, gardengloves. Where do you usually find/buy them?

I thought of one other weird thing I have...

cona.jpg

Oh! A cona coffee maker. I haven''t seen one of these for years. My grandmother had one - I have no idea what happened to it. The glass parts are fragile, so I could take a guess.

Do you use it?

Collected these over 20 years. Mainly road side rock shops from trips to the southwest, Arizona, NM, Utah, Colorado and Herkimer county in upstate NY. Picked up the big sphere in CA... all over the place basically hauled back one by one.

Yep, I use it several times a week at least. On days I don''t use it, it''s usually because I made espresso or was running late and didn''t have time to make either. I''ve always loved coffee, but I''ve become a total coffee snob in the past couple of years. Coffee can be like diamonds - gain some education, get to experience the finer side, and suddenly you want nothing to do with what 90% of the world is selling you. Funnily enough, my best equipment has all been gifts from DH - and DH HATES coffee. He gave me the Cona for xmas a month ago.
