Lets talk about cavaliers baby!

ill start. here is by baby Mortimer. we call him Morty. hes about 6 and a half... I adopted him from a breeder that kept him outside. Poor baby!!! here are a few of my favorite pics (especially the one with him and my new addition!)

He may have lived in a barn his first 5 years but hes as classic a cavalier as you would ever know! such a mamas boy

Oh! I'm just in love with Mortimer, what a cutie with those brown eyes!! I'll post a few of my babies soon, just have to dig up some pics.

First up is Ava, she went over the rainbow bridge in May 2009 and I still miss her every single day. She had an autoimmune disease that we weren't able to battle. She was my first Cav and I seriously think that no dog can be as sweet as her. She was quite and polite, such a true lady that loved to fetch a ball.

Next is my ruby boy, Gamby. Although his coat is more brown these days, he just loves sunning himself. He's almost 5 in November. I got him when he was a year old because I knew Ava wouldn't have a full life expectancy. They were best friends. He's such a handsome little guy! He plays mom to the puppy now by cleaning her face everyday (no lie seriously) and is incredibly protective of her when she sometimes whines or when strange dogs approach too quickly.

Ava is adorable!!! I cant imagine losing Mort ill be so sad when that happens. He wasnt our families first dog but he is MY first dog. Sorry to hear shes no longer with you but I bet she was a loving little lady!!

Last but not least, our six month old black and tan girl, Lucky. She's quite the handful and incredibly intelligent. She potty trained herself at 11 weeks and likes to go sunning outside by herself. My ruby boy got really depressed after my first dog died and we both realized that we needed to get another dog as a companion for him.

Nielseel, it was incredibly difficult to lose her. Honestly, I grieved longer for her than when my grandmother passed. These dogs are such a huge part of our lives! Mort looks like a happy healthy guy though, so I'm sure you'll have many years of happiness with him!

your ruby is ab cutie too . looks a lot like mort, i just posted the pics of him with his dough eyes. He still is still red. So is my FI and my daughter. And me with dark brown!!I dont know how this happened

Haha that's too funny!! You're the odd one with no red hair? I bet Mort just gets all the treats and love in the world. How could you not with that face?

youre posting pics faster than I can reply! they are all so cute. I wish I could have have 2 of them but with a newborn I dont know if I could handle them all

I was going to say I bet Mort is really gentle with your little one. I don't have children yet (hopefully someday soon!) but they are really gentle around little ones.

he is the best with her. if she is crying too long (like when I am making a bottle) he goes over and sits with her until I get done. Also he likes to lick her feet haha

and i dont know how she turned out to be a red head. my FI parents both have dark brown hair and he turned out a ginger. I think its some sort of freak dominant red hair gene hes got there :wink2:

Mott looks like he really adores her! I'm totally having a giggle at their matching red hair!
And what a beautiful baby she is :)

Thanks for sharing pics of Mort with me! It was a real treat.

Gammygam, I'm sorry about your Ava. :(sad

The doggies in this thread are SO adorable!

And neilseel, your baby is beautiful!

Here is mine, her name is Josie and she will be 2 in January. She is the funniest little dog and my first cav and I cannot imagine my life without her, love her more than I can say. I grew up with big dogs and there is just something about having my sweet girl with me that warms my heart. We call her freaky most of the time though!

awww, all of your dogs are so beautiful- they are making me melt!!
I want Morty's red hair!! :cheeky:

Gammygam, I am so sorry for the loss of your dear Ava in 2009. My dear Billy crossed over to rainbow bridge in 2009 as well and my heart still aches. We miss him so much. Hugs to you.

I didnt see that last post you made lknvrb4 !
Your puppy is so cute!!! Its amazing how all of that breed is just absolute sweethearts. I feel like everyone who has one says the same thing! I grew up with big dogs too, and I really didnt want to get a smaller one when I was told I had to , (because of apartment hunting, and what-have-you ) But now I couldnt imagine not having a cav. They are more relaxed than other small dogs Ive seen, yet still so loving and doting.

Awwww! They all are so precious. I've always wanted a Cav. Their little faces just make me melt. I nearly took one home from a local pet store last year, but cooler heads (DH...) prevailed and I now have a shepard mix and a toy poodle. Lights of my life, but maybe the next one...

Thank you for sharing your little cuties.

Do tou know which breeder Mort comes from? I have always LOVED cavs but niw that I've seen your Mort.. I have a sudden urge to get one..;)

I am not sure! I bought him from a family that Was using him as a stud. They told me they got him from a Canadian breeder. I'll try and find his papers see what they say. I would say if you are thinking a out getting a dog I would highly recommend a cav. They just crave human attention and were bread to be calm lap dogs ( so try would sit still for paintings I think ) so they aren't hyper or anything. I've had lots of good dogs including a golden retriever mix an a lab. But I've never seen a more loving dog. And that's including the fact he lived with very little human contact for years of his life :(

Your puppy is sooo cute!! How funny it seems that we three have ruby Cavs and all have pear shapes!

WHAT BEAUTIFUL DOGS!
Not a cav owner, just an admirer. Might have to start a pug thread ;)
Thanks for sharing, and your baby is so adorable as well! :wavey:

Hope no one minds me reviving this old thread. I love cavaliers!!
Our puppy has been with us one month now. CKCS are a wonderful breed to own.

Thanks ittybittykittykat! JC is just adorable!!!! Niel I love your Ruby
I would love to have a Tri and Ruby, just "collect" them all! They are like M&Ms. Who can stop at one?!

Cutie! "Once you pop you just can't stop" We plan on getting him a friend when he's a little older. My SO wants a black & tan or Ruby I would love a Blenheim or another Tri color. In the meantime this little guy is keeping us very busy!
