Just wondering, how much of the shoe should you see when you have your wedding dress on. Should the dress be touching the floor? I was just curious because I just got my dress back and I ordered a petite. When I have the dress on with heels I can sort of see my shoes when I walk and the front of the dress does not touch the floor...does that mean my dress is too short? Maybe I can wear shorter heels? Thanks!!

i WISH mine was like that! mine couldn''t be shortened, so i''m wearing 5" platforms, and the dress is still a little too long, so i''m going to have to walk reeeeeaaaaally carefully! i say, as long as you like the way it looks and you can walk in it, then it''s fine. on the other hand, if you feel it''s too short, there''s nothing wrong with buying another pair of shoes either!

I think it''s totally about personal preference. If you love your shoes and can''t wait to have people see them, why not let them peek out from under the dress hem? But if you prefer a hem that goes all the way down to the floor, go with a lower heel.

ditto. I like the sound of the length of yours.

I think it really is a matter of personal preference - BUT when I went to buy my dress it was during the trunk show for the designer whose dress I bought, and she consulted with the sales associate concerning the fit of the dress. You could see just a little bit of my shoe, and the designer said that was a perfect length (so they wouldn''t need to shorten the dress for me when it came in). Some designers, at least, intentionally design the dresses to be that length.

A perfect hem would be an inch from the floor, while you are wearing your shoes. It lets you walk comfortably, but look floor length. And yes, your shoes will peep some when you walk. Congrats on not having to get a hem done, they are expensive!

Thanks ladies!! I was a little worried there for a second. I guess I didn''t really think about it til I thought, "What if people can see the color of my shoe (if I was going to dye it another color?) Then I got to thinking, "Is this too short?" Anywho, thanks again for all your help!!

I was told that your toes should peek from underneath when you walk, so it sounds perfect. Sounds like your toes are peeking!
