So girls, how is everyone feeling??? I am at that "let is ride" and pray for the best stage (with a few minor projects on the agenda). How is everyone else???

Thanks for asking! I''m feeling much better about things. All of the final plans are coming together. I had my second fitting today and I am so excited! I didn''t want to take off the dress - it felt so good to swish and sway in it. My final fitting is on the 29th of Sept, and then I will pick it up on Oct 5 right before we drive down to KY for the wedding.

The RSVPs are starting to come in, and based on our estimates, we think we will have around 220 guests. We decided to throw a "morning after" breakfast at the hotel, and just put down the deposit for that today. That''s it in terms of bookings - thank God! All of our other vendors are selected, our menus have been set, flowers and cake have been ordered.

I need to finalize the wedding ceremony and music selections so that work can begin on the programs - I will do that this week. That was the last "big thing" that I needed to do. We still need to get wedding party gifts, but can do that the week of the wedding.

Mom is doing the out-of-town gift bags this week or next. They''ll do the menu cards and place cards, and draw up the seating chart, at the end of the month.
I''ve got myself booked in for a brow wax and massage the week before the wedding. I need to schedule another Botox appointment, probably 2 weeks before the wedding. Highlights and trim will be done 2 weeks before the wedding. I''m having to rush that a bit, because we have to travel to Germany for a bridesmaid''s wedding 3 weeks before our own.

How ar you doing?

Forgot to mention that we got the favors ordered -- caramel apples! So yummy and fun for October. They will be stacked on a tulle-covered "tree" next to the exit door.

I''m remarkably more prepared than I figured I''d be since I''m notorious for procrastination, haha! I''m having difficulty tracking down my caterer, which is bugging me. We still have to take care of alcohol (we''re bringing in our own), make the programs (although the inner part is done; it''s just a matter of printing them off, putting the covers on them, and making them prettiful), get attendant gifts, kill one of my bridesmaids (ugh, don''t ask!), and go through all the bridal shower fun. My veil came in today, so I''m going tomorrow, picking up the veil, and going to my second dress fitting. I still need to schedule a trial run for hair and makeup, but my hairstylist is also one of my best friends, so I''m not too worried about that--she knows me better than to cake on 8 pounds of makeup or anything. I also have to figure out how we''re doing hair and makeup for the wedding party (are we all meeting at the salon or am I paying the stylists to come 40 minutes out of town to the venue for this? I DON''T KNOW!!) Oh, and neither my mother nor my FI''s have gotten dresses yet.
20.gif

I''ve already gotten everything squared away with the floral designer, venue, DJ, officiant, and cakes, and the menu is to be reduced so I need a final estimate on that, but otherwise, we''re good to go on food, too. I''ve been practicing in my shoes, so I can now walk in heels, yeet! I also got my first reply back in the mail today (exciting!), so I''ll have to arrange the seating chart once those come in...OH! and the one big thing we have left is that my FI is still missing addresses for some of his family, so some of our invites haven''t even gone out yet! AAAGGGHH!

How''s everyone else doing? We''re getting close, people!!!

I keep freaking out, until I look at my to-do list... then I realize that it''s all manageable. There really isn''t that much, a couple of big things, but everything else is really small and easy.

I''m SO ready to just be MARRIED already!!!

Thanks so much for the check in iwanna!

Good, mostly.

Only bad thing is John''s mom isn''t recovering well from her surgery (open heart, they cracked her chest open and everything) two weeks ago. So we''re all VERY worried about her, and she stressing about making it to the wedding. Which reminds me, I need to call and reserve a wheelchair for her for the wedding just in case. So if you all have any Fairy Dust to spare, it would mean a lot to all of us. PS dust works wonders.

Other than that, I am doing my usual panic and buy multiples of everything just in case. I now have THREE veils (just ordered another one today), and three pairs of shoes (ordered a pair last week). Don''t ask, I apparently like wasting money. I''m gonna have a huge ebay extravaganza after this wedding.
20.gif

My earrings will be shipped to me tomorrow (YAY). I saw a bracelet I''m thinking of getting. Don''t have ''something borrowed''... finally ordered the stupid parasols. My mom has the table seating chart and is proofing/revising. John has a TON of things to do, and I will have to hurt him if he doesn''t make a big dent on his day off tomorrow. I delegated all things favor and card box related to one of my aunts. And my shopping crazed aunt with two sons and no daughter who LOVES everything wedding related is coming into town this weekend (2 weeks before the wedding) to help out (YAY!) and take a load off of everyone. Which will be great.

I''m working from home today. Gonna call up some vendors and do a check on things with them later this afternoon. Then tonight we get to write out big HUGE CHECKS to everyone and declare bankruptcy. LOL.

Sounds like you gals are on the ball.

So, let''s see with me.

FSIL is dilated to a 2.... baby should be here anytime (due date 9/17)
Lot''s of printing and DIY stuff (couple of hours tops)
Bands are ordered
Write ceremony plan (I bought that book Gypsy, it is FAB)
Necklace and earrings

I couldn''t find one either, so I am DIY''in....

Thanks IWPO! I am starting to really freak out - I think I am too much of a procrastinator on things that I don''t care about like table numbers, guest book etc and now that the wedding is what - 32 days away? I''m panicking!

I''d better buckle down. Tomorrow. I promise :-)

I was trying my hardest to get everything done before September so I''d have a month stress free. No luck.

Here''s what I''m down to.

- My friend is being a champion and polishing most of my silver for the centerpieces, we''re doing some as well.
- First dress fitting done, veil is in, waiting for new earrings to come in, first ones weren''t exactly right, bracelet is done.... have to get all pieces back when ready.
- Bridesmaid fittings done, yay!
- Going to LA for Bachelorette this weekend, making sure jr bridesmaid dress is done and her shoes fit while down there, taking two pairs done for her to try on. Getting ring bearer fitted for his tux.
- The giant paper project! Making placecards this week with my bridesmaid... then laying out program and menu.
- Next week or printing out program and menu pieces... then with both bridesmaids, we''re going to be heat embossing and assembling!
- After that printing favor cones and making favor cones, and petal cones....
- After THAT, then assembling the favors, probably the week before the wedding...
- After ALL THAT, then assembling the welcome bags, I have all the parts ordered, I made hang tags and stamped our initials and dates on them (surper cute I''ll post photos later).
- I at least made size hang tags and tied them to the flip flops with ribbon already... oh crap I forgot to get the galvanized bucket for them. Off to Cost Plus!
- My FI made the free standing guest book photo backdrop from PVC, it''s can be re-sized by width or height, pretty crazy! We bought fabric that the local seamstress is going to whip together for us... that needs to be done still.
- And double oh crap! I forgot to have the FI pick up the flood lights for outside the tent and house for the reception!

Other than that, pay vendors... um and little things like calligraphy etc need to be done. We''re down to the nitty gritty details now. I hope I don''t forget anything... and yes i"m stressed!

I''ve been super flakey about work lately. I can''t help it. I should maybe take more than a week off around the wedding. Would make life easier.

I''m not having a traditional wedding...my fiance and I are eloping. We''re down to figuring out the little details.

-- We''re picking up our license tomorrow and made the appointment for the ceremony at our local courthouse for the 2nd
-- My fiance is going to order his band tonight from Quest Jewelers in VA
-- I still need to order a small bouquet
-- We need to pay for the rest of the photographer deposit
-- My first hair and make-up trial is this Friday; the appointment for the actual day has also been made
-- I found earrings to wear with my dress, but I''m undecided about about a bracelet
-- I still need to call Berdorf''s to order my shoes
-- We made a reservation for our family to have dinner to celebrate

We''re not going on our honeymoon right away because of my job...so, the details of that (European honeymoon) will be figured out later.

I hope that everyone is doing well!

SuLi I asked about this in another post before, not sure if you saw it... I was wondering how you felt about your wedding band and e-ring fit. I see they are not flush. Do you like it? Is it comfy? Mine aren''t flush as well.

IWPO! I am doing it myself now too! (I used to do makeup in college, so I think I know what I am doing!) THe lady who did it yesterday was fine and all, but I think I still prefer the way I do it. Nars has this gorgeous Bridal set and I am thinking of playing around with that. And maybe i''ll get some higher def. foundation.

What are you doing?

Hi there! Sorry about missing your post...I don''t spend much time on PS because I''m really busy with work and I kind of just want a break from the computer when I get home.

I like that my band and ering are not flush. At first, it bugged me -- but only because every jeweler we went to was insisting that we buy a "curved" band, which I did not want because I wanted to be able to wear the band alone. Also, I was adamant about a ring with a low setting since I''m particularly klutzy, so that eliminates being able to wear a flush ring without some sort of curve in it.

I''ve tried my band on a few times with the ering and it''s pretty comfy, although I have very short fingers, so I don''t think I''ll be able add another one. I may be able to wear two stacked bands alone, but not three bands on one finger.

How are you feeling about it? Are you having doubts?

Yes I was having a lot of doubts. I was pretty unhappy at first to be honest. I see that yours are at least straight on the edges so they sit better. Mine are rounded. Round circles on the band, and a round ring so there was a lot of ''pivot''. I also don''t have much real estate on my finger so it wasn''t great. BUT my jeweler is a miracle worker. He made a spacer for me that fits quite well and doesn''t take up more real estate. The rings sit better now. I tried on the preliminary he sent me... and I pick up the finished deal in LA on saturday. It''s not ideal to have to have a spacer but it works with my small finger space. Small on top, larger on bottom. Fits like a puzzle piece. That gives me the option to wear together or separate. I think i''d have been better about it if mine were straight on the edges like yours. The pivot was driving me nuts!

I am somewhat of a lurker, but I am 10/11/08 also..

As weird as it seems my latest stressor has been people trying to organize a shower for me. My BMs were lazy or unorganized about it and so my FMIL decided to do her own thing with just her relatives and none of my family or friends. I dont think she meant it to seem mean, but I wasnt really happy about it. She originally offered up her house to host the event and I sent the BMs her phone number, etc back in June and nothing was done until yesterday when his mom finally said forget it I am doing my own. Now my BMs want to still throw their own. UGGGG. They keep telling me I shouldnt need to worry about it, but then they keep calling me and asking me what to do.

Aside from that - I am also planning to do my own make up as I saw some others said the same. Anyone have recommendations for consealers for under eye/blemishes? I also never really use an all over foundation, has anyone found one that really stays on all day?

Go get a MAC makeup trial at a mall and see what they reccomend. Also I HIGHLY recommend primers. Ie, lip primers, eye shadow primers... mac has those, and the best of all SMASHBOX has a face primer for under foundation called ''Photo Finish'', that stuff is the bomb, considered one of the best out there and helps your makeup stay on longer.

Thanks for the shout out, Iwanna! I'm feeling great, three days away! Everything is pretty much in order, just waiting for the day to come. Also hoping and praying for good Massachusetts weather...which is pretty much a paradox.

I''m October 11 of 2009, does that count?

Just stopped by to wish all of you well!

Thanks for the shout-out, IWanna! Good luck to everyone during their final countdown!

We''re 10 days out (9/13), and most everything is done. Yay!! FI just picked up his tux today (Mens Wearhouse got it in super early), and I just had my final fitting this afternoon and brought my dress home. I got the seamstress to take some pics for me, so if they turned out at all I''ll make a new thread for them. I also picked up my shoes from being dyed. They''re VERY blue.

I need to call the florist tomorrow. I''ve totally slacked on following up with them, and a small part of me has been afraid to call. You know, like I call and they say "what wedding?". They''re a small shop and didn''t want a deposit up front. They told me I''d just pay when we met closer to the wedding. So, um, we haven''t met yet. Dust, please!!

I''m doing ok, until I see my wedding countdown on facebook or I write the date on something and realize "Oh snap, i''m getting married in 23 days!" and then my head goes into a huge whirlwind of things i think i''ve forgotten to do, deposits that are coming up, and then i start running down my invitation lists wondering who i''ve forgotten.

I''m excited about the wedding (more excited about the honeymoon to disney world.. lol. i need a vacation!) but i''m nervous too. Jon and I have dated 8 years on Sunday.. so it''s not like there''s anything about him i don''t know. I mean, it''s pretty much old hat now. But i still worry about actually living together. What that will be like.. and of couse, there''s the drama from the Future MIL. She''s said some pretty rude things and made comments i''m not happy about. She''s still trying to be somewhat controling, but i''ve basically, for my own sanity, kept her completely in the dark about most of the plans. She''s had no say in the cake, location, flowers, invitations or food. She''s still trying to be involved in the decorating... but I''m putting my foot down and will not allow her to put organza bows on everything!

I have my dress fitting today... let''s hope all the alterations are right!

My MOH, God love her, has sent me a wonderful list of all I have left to do (realistically). It really helped to see all the small details on one page from anothers perspective. I guess she has been listening to me hard core as there is some things on there that I looked at and thought "hmm, I can''t believe I was contemplating that..." hahah

I have done so well to not stalk my registry, I looked this morning and 1 thing has been "fullfilled"
9.gif

I''m on Sept. 25 and yesterday I had my final dress fitting and shipped it, along with FI''s outfit, off to Virginia (where we are getting married). I probably shouldn''t even say this but I hope UPS doesn''t lose that box....

we moved into our home a couple of days ago. kitchen demo and painting are the only things on my mind right now!!

Are you kidding me? I stalk my registry daily. I almost died at my most recent shower when I opened a waffle maker and Jon said "She was so excited when she saw on our registry that someone bought us the waffle maker."

Love his heart, he tries....

Well. The mood swings continue. The crazy at work did not go away (though crazy co-worker did), I will work with too many women, and they like drama way too much.

We have gotten a lot of wedding planning stuff done in the last few days. At least it feel like it.

* I booked a makeup artist for my MOH, mom, grandma and aunt yesterday. Then I cancelled today when my mother changed her mind today for herself, grandma and my aunt (with drama of course).

* I then booked my MOH hair and makeup at the mall as I can''t get someone to come out and do just one person to the house and most salons are closed on Sundays (YAY!)

* We mailed out final payments to the baker, the DJ, and the photographer.

* Finalized my floral order, will be getting my invoice tomorrow so that we can pay that too.

* Picked ALL the music for the wedding including all the ones we couldn''t figure out for the longest time: PROCESSIONAL of parents and MOH, Brides PROCESSIONAL, Recessional. Parent Dances. YAY.

* Burned a CD for the DJ with the music that we needed him to have. Made a second copy to give DOC in case he forgets it.
* Have 3/4 of my ''emergency'' kit togther.

* Had a good talk with my DOC today that outlined some expections.

* Bought Bestman''s gift.

* Resolved MOH''s gift issue.

* Got table seating chart finalized

*Bought blank printable business cards for placecards

*Finally have table number files (pics of our pets)

*John confirmed his tux order, and relayed the Best Man''s measurements to the tux place.

* Delegated favors and card box. Outa my hands.

* Got "Something Blue"

*Ordered parasols.

Still need to (off the top of my head)
* Get my e-ring polished
* Pay florist''s final balance (tomorrow)
* Do final walk through with Caterer, Venue, and DOC (Sunday)
* Give final head count to caterer (7 days before as a few guests are still not sure they are coming)
* Pick up dress from cleaners for where it''s being pressed (13th)
* Get mani and pedicure (13th)
* Get table numbers printed and assembled (14th).
* Talk to John''s uncle (officiant) about the ceremony script we sent him. (Sunday)
* Get eyebrows done
* Print up and assemble escort cards (14th).
* Get last two pics for the Memory Table from John''s mom.
* "Something Borrowed" missing and I''d like a better "Something Old" than my Spanks. John''s mom''s antique watch would do both of these, but as she''s not feeling well and will probably forget to bring it, I need to find something.
* Finalize are Rehearsal Details (delegated to John)

Okay. So, not too bad. Right. 17 days.

So I haven''t been postingthe past few months because I''ve just been out of control busy. I''ve been so stressed out from everything going on that I haven''t been getting the right amount of sleep, which adds to me being cranky
7.gif
Now lest people think I''m not on board with the marriage train... the problem is that shortly after the wedding we will need to move in (temporariliy) with two of FI''s friends. Why? Because my dear FI decided that Oct 1 would be the perfect time to start our addition, thus leaving our current house unlivable for at least an entire month! FI''s friends are so nicely letting us live with them, they are the only people who could take us and our dog in. So with worrying about getting everything ready with the house (we need to pack up anything breakable, valuable, etc) I''ve been going nuts because on top of it of course is the wedding coming up now in only 6 days! AHHHHH

In any case. I''m a little bummed with myself because originally I had really wanted a birdcage veil.. but somewhere along the line forgot about it, and never got one.. and as it stands, I will have absolutely nothing in my hair. Now I was perfectly fine with this, until today. I got it in my head that I NEED to have that birdcage veil, because otherwise I just won''t look special that day.

I know it''s crazy, but I couldn''t let it go. So I went out today and bought tulle and hair combs and am trying to craft my own.. lets say it''s not going so well
7.gif

So at this stage, I am still totally stressed out, just wondering what will go wrong. It''s how I am on a regular basis, always wondering what horrible thing will come around the corner next.. so theres no way I can NOT be worried about something going wrong on this big day.
