I had a second makeup trial over the weekend and I like it much better - I went to a totally new place, and the artist is able to come to the hotel for the day of the wedding, which is great. It looks a little heavy to me, but I do like how much she brought my eyes out. I told her I wanted to go for "glamour".

Krissie, what beautiful hair color and eyes you have...striking.

I didn''t see your last trial, so I can''t compare it.

The eyes do look a little heavy - but - you wanted glamour, so I think you accomplished that. And they do look good.

I''m not crazy about the lipstick - but - take into account, I tend to dislike coralish/pinkish colors. I think it''s too bright - I would like something more subdued, especially to pair with dramatic eyes.

i''m in the complete opposite camp from claudinam--i love the lipstick and think the color emphasizes what gorgeous skin you have! what specifically feels too heavy to you?

Thank you Claudina and Doodle! I will post photos from my first trial, where they used Aveda makeup and I had to keep asking the artist to "deepen" the color. This artist used Glo Minerals and I can''t believe how nice it made my skin look. It also felt amazing on, and didn''t come off - even the eye makeup - until 10 hrs later.

I am unsettled about the lipstick - I like the shimmer, but it''s a color I''ve never worn before. I do think it looks "fresh" which is nice. I have also never really worn eyeliner underneath my eyes, so that looked a little heavy to me. I really think it looks better in photos than it did in person. I never knew my eyes could look so big!

Here was my first trial at Aveda.

First trial - side view. It just didn''t feel like anything special, and it wore off really quickly.

Gorgeous!!! So much better than the first trial, and I don''t think it''s too heavy at all!

Oh I think trial 2 blows trial 1 out of the water.

I think your make-up is heavy but not too heavy, if that makes sense. It is not "natural" looking.. but it still looks very pretty. I promise I would steer you away if you looked like a drag queen. Your eyes really pop and I think you look gorgeous.

Thank you! Actually, I thought of how you had your eyes done when I saw how she had done mine, and you looked gorgeous!

You look great. I want the "glamour" look myself, it''s nice to know I''m not the only one out there!

It looks fab Krissie. You look so pretty!

I love the second trial but I agree with claudinam-I''d go with a different lipstick. I think that the eye make-up is amazing though.

I would definitely go with a different lipstick. You should only put strong emphasis on one element of your face. Otherwise you get that "too made-up" look, which is what I think you're experiencing. If you're playing up your eyes, play down your lips. Try a shimmering peachy-pink shade instead.

Also, I think the eyeliner on the bottom is too heavy. What color are you eyes? I can't tell from the photos. If they're brown, try using a dark khaki green. If they're hazel or green, try a medium shade of brown (is your eyeliner in the pics brown? It looks black). You should use an eyeliner that is the opposite of your eye color to make them really pop. I have brown eyes, and I use either a khaki green pencil, well blended (no liquid liner for me) or a deep plum color. Looks fabulous.

I love

everything except the lipstick, though I can''t tell if it''s because of the actual lipstick or the lighting in the pictures.

LOVE your eyes! The eyeliner really adds a lot of defination. I would maybe also try some bronzer or pale peach blush to your cheeks to contour. I''m not too crazy about your lipstick though, but that''s because I never use anything on my lips...not even clear lipgloss! I love your lips in the aveda and eyes in your new trial.

I also think it depends on your wedding feel. For an outdoor summer wedding, I feel the coral lipstick is a bit too formal.

Thanks again, everyone! I was wondering whether maybe I should go with a deep brown rather than black/brown eyeliner. My eyes are blue, for those who were asking! That was one thing I was going to mention on wedding day - that I''d like perhaps a dark brown rather than something that looks more black. But I do like the way the black brings out my eyes, so ... I dunno! LOL I''m glad that I told her I wanted glamorous, just to see what that meant to her. I think it will be easy to work back from there, maybe paring back the eyes a tad and making the lipstick a little warmer. Overall I''m really happy with how my skin looked, though!

Also, the wedding is in October at a cathedral, in terms of formality and season. The wedding is at 2.30 p.m. and the reception will carry on throughout the night - formal, sit down reception at a private club.

I am getting really excited

I second the #2 trial but I would also think about changing the lippy. It''s a lovely colour, but I don''t think it''s exactly right for reasons I can''t put my finger on. Sorry, to be so unhelpful, it may be the monitor colours we are seeing but it seems a little orange for your skin tone? Maybe tone it down a tad, and leave your stunning eyes as is - they are fab!! You are going to look sensational!!!!

Krissie, I think the second makeup trial wins hands-down. You definitely look glamorous, and I love the eye makeup. I like the bold lipstick, personally, but I think a pink-er shade would look better on you (this one has a little too much orange tone to it). If you wanted to stick with bright pink, a fuschia shade (blue/cool undertone) would likely work best.

Trial number two looks a lot better! You looked beautiful in the first one, but it was so soft and natural that it was almost as if you weren''t wearing any makeup. In this trial you look very glam, and you wear it well. I actually like the eyes a lot, but I think a less orange-y lip color might look nicer. I''m not sure whether the pictures on my monitor are showing the color correctly, but it looks rather bright compared to the rest of the makeup.

You will be a beautiful bride!

krissy, I think none of us mentioned your skin because it looks so good, it''s just a given...you look great.

I also agree with Wishful that the makeup on trial #1 looked really, really nice...but way too natural for a wedding/pictures.

I actually think that a lipstick subdued like the one on trial #1 would complement the eyes from #2 perfectly. But in no way does it need to be AS subdued...as others said even if you pull back on the orange-ish hue a bit, it''s all you need.

You look beautiful! I love the eye make-up, but I am also voting for a slightly different lipstick. Right now the eye make-up and lipstick are kind of competing, so I think a few shades lighter would do it! Maybe the lipstick from the first trial, but eye make-up from the second one!

You all are so sweet - thank you for the wonderful compliments! You''ve made my evening!

I think I will experiment with a more muted color and take it from there!

Oops, I almost missed this thread. I definitely prefer this look over the first one! This overall look really brings out your best features! It blows the first trial out of the water. With your coloring, I think I would prefer a more pinkish lipstick and maybe brown eyeliner, though. I think brown would make your blue eyes pop even more. Truly, you are going to look so stunning!

you look so pretty. The 2nd trial is much more glamorous, I love it!
