The kitchen is probably my least favorite. It's bigger than it looks, but it's still not as big as I'd like, ideally. I don't mind the cabinets; they're fairly new. I'd change out the knobs though, with something pewter colored, or polished nickel. If we lived there long, I'd also want to do something about the countertops and backsplash; it just looks cheap in comparison with the rest of the home.
And, it's a little TOO white; some color would do it some good. We've seen another home that had white tile countertops and backsplash, and on the backsplash, they put a designed polished nickel every so often, to create some "kick." It was awesome, and still neutral. But not so institutional. The silvery tiles would also give me a reason to look for stainless steal appliances at some point, too. (When we get rich and all!!!)
There is also a decent pantry on the other side of the of the fridge, and then a cute little breakfast nook. I've never heard of a breakfast nook until we started looking at houses; it's a cute thing!!
This the breakfast nook; the door leads out to a BIG deck. If you can see in the picture (I''m not sure how detailed it will turn out), there have been some window treatment holders put on the home (all windows on the downstairs) that are wooden, hefty, and have a ledge for display. I love that!! The current owners have mostly used tab panneled curtains, and they look really nice with that rod/holder thing in place.
The nook also has a vaulted ceiling, which I think is a cute change in angles. Paul and I both really like angles and dimensions that change from room to room. It creates personality.
This is another angle of the family room, looking toward the front door (taken from the kitchen area).
I don't know if I like having the stairs right at the front door or not.
I wish they had taken a picture of the master bathroom. It's a nice area. I can see some serious relaxation there!!
*Can I just add that I LOVE that the current owners have a characture of themselves in the house? Paul and I have one, and I just love it!!!* I'd not put it right there are the front door, but it's in our bedroom now, and will probably be up in our office, when we have more than one bedroom!!*
