So, it's 3 in the morning here and the dogs starting barking like crazy. My husband goes to check outside and there's two guys and a girl walking around being loud and drunk. He watches them just to make sure, but them they turn around and stand there staring back at my husband... It was creepy. I don't even know how long they stood there staring, I was so freaked out. I called the cops to let them know what happened.
We usually aren't the call the cops kind of neighbors and they were only drunk but when they started to just stand there across the street and stare at us... It just kinda sent chills down my spine.
Now I can't sleep...

Everything ok this morning? That kind of thing does creep you out, but they probably don't even remember doing it after a night of whatever-it-was. Keep doors locked but don't stress; odds are very high it was nothing. Middle-of-the-night worries are always magnified; it's the pits! :wavey:

Completely concur with JF!! They were on whatever and probably just as scared of your DH for being out and watching THEM ! I'll bet they have no idea what happened but the bummer thing is, you were sober and could imagine all sorts of options.

Hope you can rest later and all is well now.

I'm glad you are OK! That is super scary (and reminds me of a horror film that I cannot remember the name of) and I am relieved the night is over for you guys and all is fine. You did absolutely the right thing in contacting the police- did they send a car around to check?

Thank you everyone for your kind words!
Yes, two cops cars patrolled by to check.
It seems silly now reading what I wrote but in the middle of the night, all kinds of thoughts were going thru my head. Like, they are drunk and irrational, what if they realize it was us that called that cops and come back and get revenge...
We live in a nice enough neighborhood so crime isn't very common, but this past year our neighborhood was the target of a lot of breakins. There was this one time where a guy was dressed as a directTV worker and went into people's houses... Scary!
But, we made it though the night! Haha

Good to know!!! Its always better to be cautious and call in suspicious behaviour. Who knows, you may have prevented something unfortunately from happening... or at least it shows that this is a safe neighbourhood and you did your civic duty.

Ok - now, go have a nap!! ;))

They poured transmission fluid alllll over my husbands car!

WHAT???? Did the police notice that when they were cruising the area??? Report it - at least its on record that you called in about a concern. Geesh.... that sucks! Sorry YayTacori.

Oh YT, I am so sorry to hear this. I hate that feeling in the middle of the night when anything (bad) is possible. I think you were right to be concerned when they just stared back at you.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but I'm glad it was just a stupid mean-spirited prank they pulled and not something more sinister. I hate that you have to worry now, though I doubt they'll ever return and in their more sober state are probably mortified by what they did.

Was there permanent damage done to the car?

Awww, how horrible!! I can't believe what jerks! YT -- do you have outside lights? Like motion-sensor ones on the driveway? If you don't, might be a good idea -- you can buy them at Lowes, etc. My next-door neighbor's driveway is only about 10 ft from ours -- his motion-sensor spotlight would stop anybody from making trouble! I'm so sorry! Hope the car is easy to clean up. Keep calling those cops!

We didn't report it. Someone has also been siphoning has out of DH's gas tank too... And I'm sure they patrolled cuz we gave them our address but it so dark!

No permanent damage. I mean, it's bad to say but we are glad that it was the car that it was. It's the truck we use to go 4x4ing so it's a little banged it. We had happened to park my SUV and his sports car outside that night but they didn't do anything to them which I am so thankful for! But it's the feeling of violation...

Yes, we have lights. We have a porch light an we also have two bright lights on each side of our garage and driveway. And we also picked this house cuz it ha the street light in front. It's the brightest house on the street!

Holy CR*P! That is just mean spirited malicious behaviour. Do you think your DH could identify them? Did he see their faces clearly enough --- or did they see his?? I guess they know where you live, obv. What about tonight? Is it worth calling the police to let them know this happened so they can patrol again? Or because its sunday night, less likely to occur? Not to stereo type, but if it was kids, summer vacation and they probably don't have to be up early for school!

oh dear. I hope you get thru the night and can actually sleep, and that nothing further happens. Fingers crossed!!

Holy smokes  that sounds scary.

Hope you two have an uneventful-not-creepy-with-bad-things-done-to-your-car night!
