Wedding Save the date

I have been educated by you all here on BIW forum haha. So i was thinking of sending save the date cards with our thank-you letters for engagement gifts as our wedding date falls on easter sunday ''10 and people will need to plan. Or is now too soon before wedding? Sending save the date cards isn''t really common in australia just wondering if you nice gals could give me a few examples.

Hi supergirl! It''s up to you, but I think it might be a bit early. I think in general it''s not more than a year before, I made myself wait until about 9 months. But like I said, it''s personal preference!

Ehhhh - I think over a year in advance is too early. I say this because many will probably lose the STD and no one has 2010 calendars yet to mark it down - I would wait until next summer - that should be plenty of advanced time and will allow people to appropriately mark down the date and prepare in advance!

I know many send Save the Dates at different time intervals - I''ve gotten a Save the Date card in the mail from a year in advance to 5 months in advance - either way was plenty enough time to prepare for the wedding - whether or not traveling was involved.
