Edited to say: I think I have too much time on my hands !!! it was only a freaking overcharge for tea, silly ! I was reading other people's posts who have real issues and realize I am a goose! I think I was mad because we are so trying to be careful with money now. Sorry- I would delete the post if I could figure out how. How about I re-write it:
If you go to Saltgrass Steakhouse and they ask you if you want flavored tea, be prepared to pay $4.50 per glass for the pleasure.
Original stupid insignificant rant:
Ok, it is near DH birthday and we decided to splurge for a lunch using a coupon, $7 off two entrees at Saltgrass steakhouse. The first thing the waitress says is Would you like some flavored tea with your lunch? I usually get water , but as a mini celebration we say yes, I told her I would get the same flavor my husband got so it would be easier for her when she needs to refill the glasses. The teas come, but instead of her pouring from a pitcher it is from individual twist-cap glasses like you would buy in the store.
Then the bill comes. Each tea was $4.50 for a total of $9.00 just for the tea!!!!! DH meal was only $9.99 and mine maybe $10.99 so the drinks were 1/3 the total order. The $7 coupon did not even pay for the tea!!!!
Am I being too picky. Don't you think a family style, middle priced restaurant should inform you they are giving you $4.50 drinks when places like Olive Garden it is a normal price?
Oh and a gentleman comes in and is seated behind me and I see the waitress bringing out a wine glass with lemon on the rim and a bottle of Evian!!! I'll bet he'll be surprised, too. So that is what I would have gotten if I had asked for water.
I wrote them an e-mail from the Saltgrass website complaining, gouging customers isn't a good policy in today's economy.
Would you all have been unhappy, too?
