Rude co-worker

What kind of chintzy a** office only has ONE ruler ... when doing the kind of business that has two people looking for rulers at any one time??? Can this POSSIBLY be efficient??? The time spent wandering the halls cooing ''Ruler? Ruler?'' could CERTAINLY be better spent, no???

Love the Office Space refs in this thread. Don''t understand the Dramz ... usually folks cut a non-serial-complainer a break when voicing a seemingly petty complaint or two. Perhaps you should have gone ANON Zhu.

DITTO!

Look on the bright side, now you know what to get her if you pull her name for the office "secret santa" in December!

I understand your complaint Zhuzhu. ALL office supplies belong to the office. But everyone still claims certain items as their own--stapler, tape, mouse pad, pen, etc. I would be irked if someone took 'my' supplies from my desk too, or borrowed and didn't return.

Are all the people laughing at the thread saying that if they arrived at work tomorrow and their stapler (or whatever item you use regularly) was missing, they honestly wouldn't be irritated?

At one place I worked each technician and engineer had their own tool boxes.
The company paid for the tools and we were expected to not "lose" them, so everyone kept theirs locked.
Many tools were expensive and very specialized and were priceless when doing certain kinds of work.

From time to time the company would replenish certain special expensive ones or tools that wore out and not everyone got a new one.
Once in a while someone would return from a break and find a tool missing and nobody knew where it went.

That person''s ability to do their job was compromised without the tool.

It was a constant problem.
After many years the company changed policy and locking tool boxes was forbidden.
People just secretly transferred their most valuable tools to a secret locked location and only junk was left in the unlocked tool boxes.

Human nature makes things difficult.

Save for the REALLY uncalled for comments towards smurf.....this thread totally brightened my day.

Zhu - I feel your pain

It's ok, I know I can be a pita sometimes, I can take a joke :) No worries
Thanks for noticing that I've been "improving" (pun soooo intended)

If I told you all how lost I am...how I have totally missed who has apparently insulted whom without my being aware of it...you would all be shocked. I am glad that I was oblivious to most of what went on in this

thread, I think. I am sorry anyone was insulted, however. I take it that smurfy and Sharon were. I hope that they are both feeling back in the circle of Pricescope again.

Hugs,
Deb
