Happy Thanksgiving Rod and Charlie! Hmmm, I can smell that nutmeg and cinnamon (with a side of pumpkin) pie all the way up here in New England. Smells delish!

I keep going back to the views of the water from your terrace. I''d give anything to be in Tampa right about now. It''s a beautiful area. We have friends in the area, and although I haven''t been there in a long time, it''s such a wonderful place.

Now that you mentioned the cake coming from a deli, that sounds familiar. Maybe you''ve mentioned it before. I don''t think you can go wrong with cake, especially if it''s chocolate and there''s a lot of frosting.

Hi Marcy! I''m practically drooling over the pound Cake that you and your sister make. My sweet tooth is calling me BIG TIME.

Hey Linda, we had a wonderful day and I hope you did as well!! It was exactly as I had hoped. We got up and had breakfast. We had planned waffles, but for some reason we could not find the waffle maker and then it dawned on us, the last time we used it we decided it was not in good shape and we got rid of it. I guess we need a new one. So we had pancakes and sausage. We got the turkey in the oven then we headed out for a nice 4 mile run, which was just terrific. Then we came home and enjoyed the collosal shrimp I got for today while the turkey was in the oven. Our dinner couldn''t have turned out nicer. The turkey was tender and juicy and everything else was just perfect. Charlie''s pie was the best one yet. The spices weren''t too much this year. They were just right! All in all, we had a wonderful day!

And I hope you had a great Thanksgiving too Zoe. Either I''ve just gronw accustomed to Charlie''s pie, or he really outdid himself this year. It was really really good. It was so good I could have had a second piece, but I decided one would do for the day. We are lucky to have such terrific views. When we were running today, we were talking that when we sell our condo, we''ll still have to find something less expensive, but it must have a great view. The deli we get our Christmas cake is called Wright''s Deli. It''s a South Tampa So, how long has it actually been since you were in Tampa? The city has grown a lot over the last few years.

Oh thank you Marcy. I hope you and Marty also had a great day today. I hope you didn''t feel guilty for having anything fun. If anyone here deserves to have had a carefree food day, it''s you my dear!! So, I hope you had one without guilt.

Rod, it sounds like your day was perfect.I am glad the pie turned out just right.We had a great day as well, I did eat too much but I don’t feel bad about it at all.My nephew’s SIL brought some friends to dinner and one of them drives an ambulance which since he was on duty he drove it over there.We took a picture of me by it so I can tell my friends my family was prepared in case I ate turkey.He said we could get inside and take a picture of me in the back but I hated to have him open it all up for me.

Marcy, you have to post a pciture of you and ambulance!! I''m glad your day was good and guilt free! We just finished Charlie''s pie off tonight. I''m now making a big pot of turly soup which we''ll have for dinner the next few nights. THen we''ll freeze some for a cold (at least to us in Florida) winter day..........

Rod, I do need to get the picture of me by the ambulance posted. Tee hee. Your homemade turkey soup sounds great. I am going to make beef noodle soup tomorrow. It''s cold and snow here and soup sounds really good to me. Stay warm for me in Sunny Florida.

I don''t want to get on the scale. I just will have to be on my regular routine.

I am so glad Carlie''s pie was delicious, we knew it would be. I know the turkey tasted delicious too.

We''re home from our Sunday workout and the soups on the stove.....yummm.

Marcy, beef noodle soup sounds great. I used to make beef stew long ago, but haven''t in some time. Since it seems we''re going to have a cooler winter this year, I might have to make some this year.

Of course you had to try all three pies Linda. You would have hurt your daughters feelings if you hadn''t!! Just indulging that one day probably didn''t hurt you. I''m not a fan of the scale to begin with, so if you think it might be cross with you, best to avoid the evil monster till after you''ve returned to your normal routine.....Thanks for the confidence on Charlie''s pie, which thankfully was really good. I hope you''re day was wonderful as well!

Rod, our soup was wonderful today too. The house still smells good. I hope your soup was just as tasty. I posted a picture of me by the ambulance on my Who''s Who. I am going to send it to my boss since he is always teasing me about eating turkey.

Marcy, our soup was fantastic as well. The house smelled so good too! Skippy had asked me for my turkey soup recipe, so I posted it on the HLT. Not that there''s anything unusual in my soup, but it did turn out really really good. I posted a reply to your pic of you by the ambulance on your who''s who!! I am glad it wasn''t taken because you needed to be a pasenger in it!!

Rod, I saw your turkey soup recipe; it looks wonderful. I think I''ll pass on making it though. Tee hee. I love how good the house smells when you cook something at home. I too am very glad I didn''t have to be a passenger in the ambulance.
