Anyone watch this show? If so what do you think about it? Cheesy or as a guest would you enjoy it?

This shows on TLC btw... same channel as Say Yes to the Dress, on after it usually...

I was at a wedding this past weekend where the entire wedding party (including the bride and groom) had choreographed a Rock the Reception-ish number. They did the whole surprised act after the music from their first dance switched to Michael Jackson. It was a ton of fun and everyone seemed to really enjoy it! I had a smile on my face during the entire dance (it was a medley of many classic dance songs)! If you love to dance...DO IT!!!

Okay so I hope no one I know personally reads (so if I know you SPOILER ALERT!!) this but my Man of Honor, my FI, myself and my Bridesmaid (and no one else knows, incl the rest of the bridal party!) are doing a Rock the Reception number. My DJ is also a dance choreographer. So we''ve had two rehearsals so far with a few more to go. We''re fine tuning as we go. It will be about two minutes long... it starts out with us slow dancing to that 80s song by Atlantic Starr, ''Always'', REALLY cheesy... we''ll be making faces, like OMG this sucks... hamming it up basically...

Then we''ll do the record skipping sound.. and go into a routine to the first re-mixed part of Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock saying ''I wanna rock right now...'' the song is it takes two but it doesn''t get into that part. The Man of Honor and BM will come up behind us to join in... Then it goes into Prince''s ''Kiss''... And we do a big routine to that and a big spin and dip finish, hehe!

It looks really good so far, but I realized I cannot do it in my heels after my first dress fitting or I''ll rip my dress. I''m going to have to change into something else. Everyone knows I like to dance but not in front of a huge crowd... my FI is totally not like that at all so people will be super shocked to see it. They all think we''re taking fox trot lessons or something... I know how to swing dance but he doesn''t dance at all. I just hope people enjoy it and we don''t f it up! First couple rehearsals I was like um what happens after this wha...? I see why people get stressed on that show, I can''t even believe we''re doing it.

This was Pre-Rock the Reception...

But my sis got married like 4 years ago...and she and my dad decided they weren't going to do an ordinary father/daughter dance.

It started all nice and sweet and then they just went nuts. Doing the Charleston, spinning around, not entirely choreographed, but it was absolutely HYSTERICAL!

It was so their personality and relationship...it was great. All the guests loved it.

SO, if I think if the bride and groom (or dad

) want to do it, I say go for it!

eta - Violet, sounds AWESOME!

I so want to do something like that but we''re not really having a reception or anything until we get back from Vegas, so it wouldn''t have the same effect. I''d say go for it!

Sounds like a lot of fun!

my FF and I watch it!! The first show was fabulous, when they couple did MC Hammer...to me some of the other couples didnt seem all that into it, and always looked kind of uncomfortable. I think its a fabulous idea as long as you are 100% into it... My FF and I plan to do it...

I saw you posted what you are going to do and it sounds soo cute!! :-) Maybe put it on youtube for us to see?!!?

I wll! We are having a videographer!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this show and I really want to do something like that!!! FI, unfortunately is not into it at all. . . oh, well.

HE did, however, make a really sweet remix for me of ALL the songs we couldn''t choose between for our first dance - so instead of one song, we have portions from 5 that mean a lot to us. . .
