I couldn''t find any current Rings in Waiting threads, so here I am

soocool & dreamer_dachsie: i''m joining the group, I too am going crazy waiting for my ring

After two settings I was not completely happy with (craftsmanship issues), I decided to contact Ari with Singlestone, I admired the rings on their website and read all the great comments here on PS

I emailed back and forth with him for a week and set up an appt for last Saturday, I had a blast in their showroom, I could have spent all day there, it took me a little over an hour to find my setting and band

I am thrilled with my purchase, but now I am so antsy it''s not even funny, my ring won''t be ready until the end of the month at earliest, I know good things are worth waiting for, but I am not the most patient person, haha

How are you dealing with the wait?

the waiting is the hardest part. It always helped me to find other things to do outside of my house and away from PS. being on here just made it worse. I can''t wait to see your new ring..I love Singlestone!!

It's so funny that you started this thread today ficklefaye because on my way home from GOG yesterday, I was thinking that we've never had a thread for people waiting for something to be completed.

I'm waiting for a pair of earrings to be done. Does that count? A long story short...... jelly had her halo pendant made last year and when she did, Adwar became a mountings company we all became familiar with. I went to GOG to order earring mountings from the Adwar catalogue. I thought since Adwar was just a few miles down the road from GOG, this would be easy and fast. Nope. They don't use Adwar, but Amy recognized the mountings and said she would bring them home from the city. It took a couple of months and what they gave her was two pendant mountings with the chain holes filled in with a blob of gold. They looked....... (you insert your own word here :-/) So I had to start all over again trying to find something that even vaguely resembled what I was hoping for. None of the catalogues in the store helped. All of the mountings I was drawn to were almost a couple of thousand dollars. That wasn't going to happen. Anyway, I found a Stuller mounting I liked on line, hoped they looked as nice when it came in and I went to see it yesterday with my loose diamonds in tow. They were much nicer than the photo. The photo somehow doesn't do the style any justice. In any case, I OK'ed the mountings, so they're going to set the surrounding diamonds (16 1 pt. G/H SI full cut H&As melees) and when that's done, they'll call me to bring in my two diamonds and they'll set them while I wait. I should have them by the end of next week. Here's hoping! I bought the diamonds a year ago!

These are my diamonds, each a .26 pt GIA certed H VS2, both Ex/Ex/Ex
4.12 x 4.14 x 2.54 and 4.12 x 4.14 x 2.56 They're virtual twins. Both tables 57%. Depths 61.5 and 61.7

This is my mounting, and I think they will look nice with my old solitaire pendant. When the earrings are completed, I'll post photos of both together. I didn't want them to be exactly the same. I wanted a nice compliment to my pendant. The diamond setter is going to rhodium the center bezel on the earrings so it will resemble my pendant which is a two part casting with a white gold center ring and a yellow gold donut.

It''s good to see we have a support group here!

.

DH took me out for a nice leisurely lunch today in New Hope and we walked around town and he let me visit some jewelry stores so I could try on rings to help me get over my "impatience" syndrome. Tomorrow is Mother''s Day and I won''t have the ring to show off.

I guess I''ll just have to hang in there.

So pretty!!!!

But seeing these doesn''t make the wait any easier. Maybe I should go look at some ugly jewelry. Anyone know where I can find some, because it won''t be here on PS.

i tried to take mrssalvo''s advice, but here i am again on ps

gemgirl, those are beautiful earrings, i hope you get them soon because i can''t wait to see photos

soocool, sorry you didn''t have your ring for mother''s day, but i''m sure you''ll have plenty of opportunities to show it off when you get it

i agree, trying on other rings would just make me want more rings in addition to the one i''m waiting for, maybe we need cheaper interests
