How long does it take to have a refund post to your account? I purchased a colored gem from a reputable well known vendor in Thailand, and the refund was carried out last week, on a Thursday, which was Wednesday in the US I believe. It''s Monday, and it still has not posted to my account. I''ve been in touch with the vendor, and he gave me all the pertinent transaction information, but still it has not posted to my account. I never had to wait so long for a refund to show up.

Check with your bank. It can take anywhere from 1 to 30 days.

Sometimes it takes one complete billing cycle.

TL- depends. When I pay through Paypal using my debit card number (because I get points when trasaction occur like a credit card) and ask for a refund within three days of the transaction, Paypal holds it to clear through their account first. Because essentially they made good to the seller with "their money" while waiting for your bank to clear for PayPal. Then when you ask for a refund back within the same period as PayPal holds it, they wait an additional few more days, because now the Seller has the money that Paypal paid them on behalf of you, then you want your refund back, but Paypal hasn''t received their funds yet from your bank. This took about 8 business days once for me, and I had to call Paypal and wondered what happend, thus their explanation. But if it happened three weeks ago, then the funds would be back in your account about 4 business days, was my experience using by credit/debit cards, but bank funds- via Paypal, usually I see it within 48 hours. If this has nothing to do with PayPal, then disregard this entire post

I would expect it to take longer than usual – anywhere from 1 to 2 weeks. The best way is to contact your bank.

Hi TL,
Doesn''t the wait irritate you? When I pay my bills online, the money is withdrawn from my account two days before it posts to the payee.
I think this is what Warren Buffet refers to in his writings as FLOAT. Much money is made this way, as you know.
