He's basically our office mascot. Not mine, but a colleague's. He hangs out with various people while his dad goes to meetings, grabs lunch, etc. He's a sweet guy. I magic erased his collar to remove the phone numbers. He does wear a full one!

This grand old dame, she helps her dad with chores. She always feels especially proud upon her return. An absolute pillar of the goodest girl community.10000415893.jpg 10000415841.jpg

@Ibrakeforpossums Yes she does, and she is very persuasive. She's so popular she gets treats at three different stops on a Sunday. One of them is entirely unnecessary, but if she didn't she'd be missed. What else can she do? She has fans.

Look at that bored face. Atticus waiting for me to finish chores so I can spend the rest of the day entertaining him.

It’s been almost 6 months since Blanche passed, and I can’t help but come back to this thread and see everyone’s fabulous furry friends. I miss her so much, I’ve searched and searched for another but my recent health issue has thrown a roadblock into my quest. I can’t raise another puppy right now. I have been in conversation with a local woman who used to breed Cavaliers, and she had some leads. Then I mentioned to her that I would rather find a retired breeding Cav (female) around 4-5 years old. I also told her about my recent mamm and ultrasound results and she said oh, it’s not a good idea for you to have a pet with radiation and/or chemo. :(sad So, another disappointment. I will have to live vicariously through everyone here and silly pet videos online. Bummer.

if your daughter could come back home she could help take care of a new dog :(2

I'm so sorry, @monarch64 - here's a picture of my very silly Cavalier boy as a promise of what will come:IMG_2020.jpeg

i love King Charles spaniels
their little faces are so loving
there was a very old one opposite us when we moved in
Our Borris (cat) would be so mean to him, teasing him and he was too old to run after her

speaking of Borris, she was smart, she would have been in the top class at school, could be a bit of a mean girl , was good at netball
before her Tinky was a road scholar and played cricket
Tibby had streets smarts but he only went to school to eat lunch and play rugby
Fluffy -i honestly think being the runt she might have had lack of oxygen at birth, she is in special ed but is good at gymnastics
Lovely Lady Sox was a very kind cat, always checking on everybody else and helping where she could, always on the sidelines cheering everybody on
Fluffy has forgotten she is surposed to be teaching PuffBall about life in a house but she has forgotten everything Borris and Sox taught her, he likes rugby but lacks natural aggression however he tries hard and has good manners and is friends with all -even the unpopular kids

good news !
really good news !!
the little stary whome we call Tibby's relative just turned up
he was snoozing on Borris' old chair at the back door
i could see a tabby foot out the window and PuffBall was inside in the scratcher bed under the heater
i rushed out with some lunch
i have not seen him since Gary was in hospital
i also had to resteict putting food at the back door as we had had a dog get in (jump the gate) and i was worried for any at who might be out there- they can get under the house where a dog would not fit
anyway last week i had to report wandering dog whom i saw come out of our driveway when i was waiting at the bus stop
turns out its been a problem for animal control for a while, the owners are very uncooperative and the dog rangers cant catch it
so the council asked us ifwe would house a dog trap, i thought about it for 5 seconds and remembered how good the dog rangers have been to us over the years
im so sick of dogs just let out to do their bussiness NIMBY style and its not safe for cats
its a big trap and will not hurt a dog (or a cat) PuffBall has been sniffing around it, its baited with half a rotisissaree chicken
its on the front lawn but where you cant see it from the street
our gate is set back at the end of the house so the front is all open
last night something had set it off but alas no one was in it

ive been feeling a lot of guilt about Tibby's relative and after that big neighbourhod cat died, the vet said he was too injuried and sick and in bad condition
they waited a week for an owner to come collect him but he had been forgotten
i collected him and burried him beside sox, he's not quite home, he's three doors down, he knew our place well

My latest sharing.
Walking Mica and Arya the other morning a young school girl, about 6 or 7, walking towards us with her Grandpa excitedly wanted to say hullo to the dogs.
Arya considers strangers more poisonous and dangerous than a red bellied black snake and hides whereas Mica is up for a greeting anytime and every time.
Permission granted.
In the blink of an eye this young girl literally grabs Mica by both ears and hauls her head towards hers where she then promptly smothers Micas nose with multiple kisses.
I don’t know who was more shocked me or Grandpa?
Not Mica, Mica acknowledges that sometimes the loving is excessive and overwhelming but whatever.

PuffBall and Fluffy are impressed at doggy bravery
they would not get within 1 km of a child

I know. Even after Blanche passed away, my daughter would walk the neighbor’s little white Bichon Frise. He love Blanche, and he still comes over and plays with one of her toys. Alex would love another dog.

PuffBall used the dirt box two nights in a row
it s cold outside once the sun goes down
