Little miss got a new collar. She's the brightest thing in the yard at the moment! It looks like a huge friendship bracelet :praise: She loves it.

We couldn't find the cat today, DH could hear her meow but we couldn't find her! I thought maybe she got into the basement but nope. When we were putting away laundry we found the scoundrel! She managed to get herself INTO the bed! 20210330_190431.jpg

Ooh what kind of doggie is this chonk?

She is a small version of what they loosely call a blackmouth cur(a mutt). She's the runt with the short legs! A rescue baby. Her face was a full black mask. She's seven now and her black bits are gray.
Her momma was a boxer they picked up pregnant down south. Most of the puppies were almost twice her size and had black coloring and floppy houndy ears. Not my girl, though.

Here she is with Virgil as a baby. He raised her for me:praise:

They eat a whole prey diet of quail, chickens, rats, mice, guinea pigs which I get from rodentpro.com. I also buy a variety of bone-in and boneless meats from hare-today.com to give them variety.

If you are adding some raw while keeping them on their regular food you don't need to worry about ratios. If you are thinking about transitioning totally away from commercially prepared food there are two ways to go:

1. frankenprey diet where you feed a variety of meat/organs/bone either chunks or ground. With this you have to be certain you get meat/bone/organ ratio perfect as well as having to add other nutritional supplements.

2. whole prey where you don't have to worry about ratios and where you can add additional vitamins if you wish to.

I'm too lazy to worry about ratios and that's why I chose whole prey even though it took getting used to tossing bodies down on the floor for the cats to eat.

I have been on the haretoday site! and I am still laughing at your "tossing bodies" down on the floor.. thanks for the info..I am just transitioning and don't know yet if I am going to go full on raw.. it would be so much easier having more vet's that support it..not that it will necessarily keep me from it. Mainly, I just want them to be healthy and happy, and it makes me mental all of the crap they put in cat food that carnivores don't need and shouldn't have.

I hear you. It makes me mental too. And adding to the inappropriate additions, commercial food contains the 4Ds -- animals who are either dead, diseased, dying or down. There have been so many pet food recalls the last few years, I'd be very afraid to feed any commercially made product. There is still risk with raw food but it's far less than the commercial crap.

edited to add -- In addition to improved health on a raw diet, there's very little poop and it doesn't stink.

And he adores you ❤️
He’s patiently waiting for a tummy rub from his Aunt Daisy. :)

He looks like he's grown out of the biting
He's such a handsome
boy
Tibby loved a belly rub and made a big game out of it never once turning on me
With Tinky the belly rub was his tool of entrapment !
Borris isnt fussed one way or the other

this is why I went that route. its more expensive yes but I know what the heck is going in their stomachs!

Sadly though I have dogs, so yes the poop still stinks...lol but its not terrible these days(Gigi's was awful when I got her!)
