I want to have a hair/makeup trial before the wedding obviously. Is the ideal situation to have your trials the same day you do your portraits? I know trials cost a lot themselves, but do I need to do a trial for the trial? If I don''t like it, I don''t want that hairstyle in my pictures forever! What are the rest of you planning on doing? (Hope this post makes sense...)

P.S. I know that bridal portraits are big in the south (and maybe some other areas), so this is where my confusion is coming from. Thanks!

I think that many people decide to do their portraits after the h/m trial just to save money. But yeah, I guess you are taking a risk. Other people make sure they have plans afterward (sometimes bachlorette party) just because it seems like a waste to get all dolled up and then just go home and sit in front of the tv, ya know?

The other thing I thought of was a lot of times the trial hair is not completely done. I mean sometimes the stylist doesn''t pin up every strand just so because they don''t want to have to spend the same amount of time on your wedding. So you have to make sure to tell the stylist you have pictures afterwards.

Are you going to a hairstylist that you trust, maybe your regular stylist? If that''s the case, talk to her/him about the importance of the trial and how you''ll be using the final result for.
