I''d have it checked out, if only to put your mind at ease. Call your gas company to see if they offer this kind of service for free
(mine does).![]()
ditto, when the gas guy came and check ours he said that if you smell gas you might have a leak; he said gas is odorless but they put something in it so it smells and you can detect a leak, etc.Date: 7/10/2009 7:20:09 PM

Sugar -- you shouldn''t be smelling gas at any time. Can you still smell gas when you open the oven? If you can, or if it happens again, you should have it checked out.
I would, I have a gas stove with 2 gas ovens and gas stove tops which I have had from new, it has never smelled right from the beginning or now years later, best to get it checked - it shouldn''t produce any smell.Date: 7/12/2009 1:51:24 AM

PSA - leaked gas won''t set off most fire alarms. Fire alarms react to carbon monoxide, not lack of oxigen or piped gas!
