Lots of Linens N Things stores have been closing lately, but for at least a while there was the understanding that it was downsizing, not collapsing. However, I just got an email from them (since we had our registry there) that they announced today that the company is completely liquidating. As of tomorrow, their 10% announcement card and 20% registry completion discounts will no longer be valid. If there''s something you want and can only get from there, get it NOW.

I''m so glad they didn''t go under until after our wedding. My heart goes out to all the brides that now have to make completely new registries.

Aaaaaaaand, the email they sent TODAY, saying registry discounts would be discontinued starting TOMORROW, was WRONG. I just called customer service after my coupon code was rejected on their website, and I was informed there was a mistake with the email. It was SUPPOSED to be sent YESTERDAY to announce everything going down TODAY.

The guy on the phone was nice and told me to call corporate, but his instructions on how to get corporate on the phone totally didn''t work. Ugh.

That's great news since I've been wanting to pick up a bunch of things. Thanks for the PSA

It starts tomorrow. FF and I are going to buy a George Foreman Grill and some bed pillows. We went by one of the stores because we were needing to waste time and close by, so we went and checked stuff out. Does anyone know what % things will be discounted?

ETA: Apparently up to 30%...

I have to cross a toll bridge or drive 40 minutes to get to one.... I wonder if the savings are worth the drive and/or toll?

gtn, make sure the store you're thinking of driving to wasn't one already starting to close before the liquidation announcement. I went to ours last week and there was almost nothing left already. That has me royally annoyed, because to get the items we wanted to spend our gift cards on, which we expected to use w/ our registry completion discount, are no longer in our store to purchase at all. No discount on the website, + heinous shipping charges, and I'm wondering what to do w/ this $50 giftcard before it's completely unaccepted.

Yeah, they have some amazing stuff that is so inexpensive! I have been searching high and low for a foyer set and on a whim I went last weekend. I got this amazing set for 60% off! It was only $55! And it''s really pretty, goes with my decor.

Everything was pretty much rummaged through and the place looked like a wreck, but it''s worth checking out.

One thing I will say is that they didn''t have a lot left. Also, I was shocked that a lot of items were only 25-30% off. There might be some good finds, but the distant may not be worth it for you. Just a heads up...
