I''ve been procrastinating doing the expense report for my p-card all day. Like since 900. I hate doing it. It''s tedious and I did a lot of travel in the last month and have receipts galore. The biggest fuss is figuring out the airfare and travel agent booking fees. I hate doing it and they''ve said we''re not allowed to give it to the department admin. At any rate, I finally decided to buckle down and just get it done since I''m traveling on Monday. We use payment net and you have to go online and type out the reason for every charge and what job it''s associated with. Very first charge I look at, the first one in the billing cycle, is for airfare I KNOW isn''t mine. It''s on an airline I don''t fly unless I absolutely have to and it''s over the amount I''m allowed to book without approval and I haven''t had to get approval for any flights this month. So I call the travel agency. I honestly thought it could easily be my manager''s airfare as the city she lives in is a hub for that airline. Of course it couldn''t be that easy. It''s for some random person OUTSIDE my company. They can''t reverse the charges. They can cut us a check to reimburse us. This is not going to be easy, things like this never are. So I''m back to procrastinating. At least for the next few mins as I gear up to attack the rest of my statement.

So what about everyone else- do you procrastinate when you really don''t want to do something or do you just get it over with?

yep. in fact, procrastinating right now.

you''re funny.

procrastinating is my full time job.

I''m the biggest procrastinator in the world. I still do it because I get away with it and usually do well with whatever project I am working. I do really well under pressure. It''s just a bummer that I have to get myself in a situation where there is pressure.

This is a trait of mine that I truly hope Amelia doesn''t get. It''s just not a good thing.

I so related to this. I work exceedingly well under pressure- I almost can''t get motivated to complete something unless there''s a deadline looming over my head. I figure that at least I know this and can plan accordingly.....

No, not really. I''m the type of person that in a class, as soon as I got the syllabus I would do everything I could right away, so I don''t have to do it later. I like to get stuff done in a timely fashion so that I can relax and not think about it anymore.

I am the biggest procrastinator EVER. I am so lethargic at times that I just don''t want to do ANYTHING, even if I know it''s really important. I tend to forget things a lot if I don''t want to do them, too.

I''m sort of in between. Sometimes I procrastinate and waste sooo much time before doing what I need to do. Sometimes I take care of it right away. When it comes to writing papers I''m not too great at starting them early, but when it comes to studying I HATE waiting till the last minute so I usually try to start a couple days in advance.

I think I used to be worse with procrastination, so hopefully I''ll keep doing it less!

Same with me T-Gal. I am a terrible procrastinator and thankfully, my daughter did NOT take after me.

Yes, procratination is my worse trait. My closets are packed with boxes that I haven''t gone through since the move before last!

House needs to be vacuumed and there is a massive pile of laundry.

Whenever I turn off the computer, seems like I get a lot more done!

I thrive and do better under deadlines, but if I don''t have much going on, I tend to procrastinate.

ROFL what a coincidence, me too!

It''s awful how much the computer consumes me.

No, honestly, I truly don''t often procrastinate.
I am much more of the mindset, "Just get it DONE and off my mind!"
I absolutely HATE that nagging, just-will-not-go-away, *chewing at me* feeling of SOMETHING. NEEDING. DONE!

Ack!

procrastination? i keep meaning to get around to it...

actually, no, i don''t procrastinate. i try not to get too much on my plate, so life doesn''t generally have a frenetic rhythm for me. consequently i have time to do what i need to do and the interest to do it. having said that tho...

if i did the hours my husband does, or if i had a few children, i''m pretty sure i''d procrastinate along with the best of them!

when i was running a business and studying as well, i found that the only way i could keep everything on track was if i made a point of doing things when i thought of them and as they came up. a backed up pile of jobs always stresses me out and that''s when things fall through the cracks for me. so i pretty much have to stay on schedule to keep a degree of order, and so long as i''m ordered, i''m productive. and i like being productive. :)

You mean like ordering shoes for my wedding, and forgetting to return two pairs? Or the ''clown blouse'' I''ll never wear, still in its box needing a return shipment to Macys.com - - since April?

Or not having had my wedding dress cleaned and heirloomed?

Waiting until the night before our meeting with the loan officer to gather our financial info?

Knowing that our closing is Aug 31st, and we haven''t emptied a drawer, cleaned a closet, or anything, yet?

Nah. I never procrastinate.

It depends on what it is. I hate that feeling of something hanging over my head, so I generally try to take care of it sooner rather than later. It doesn''t always happen though.

Two hours after I started, I am finally finished. 53 receipts. Each had to be reviewed against the charges on the statement and explained. Then they had to be numbered and cross referenced to the printed out statement. Ouch. I need a cocktail. At least by procrastinating until the end of the day, I can go have that cocktail rather than having to work anymore!!

eh, just imagine what future life will be like when computer/internet brain chips are put into our heads! lol

Glad to hear you got it done. It depends what it is whether I will procrastinate.

If I need new pants or shoes I don''t procrastinate at all! I go right away and buy. If I have to tell husband that I blew my whole two weeks worth of spending money on shoes and pants and now I''m broke I procrastinate. I hate the look he gives me.

Yes I do.

Yes..not on everything, but on some things and according to my Mom I''ve always waited until there was some sort of pressure before I did certain things.

Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow?

Ditto. If I have a deadline, things will get done. If I don''t.....then it can wait until tomorrow, or the day after, or next week.

I would have responded sooner but I didn''t get around to it.

No, I don''t procrastinate.

I sure do and Pricescope helps me put things off even longer.
