Can I please get some information from you guys on how much you spent on your invitations! If no one minds, that is! I picked mine out today and talked with the desinger on the phone and left my deposit.. but I feel like I''m spending too much!! I LOVE the invites, is it worth it to you guys.. are they pretty important? Do they really set the tone of the wedding? I mean I am not spending THAT much! I am going with Kristy Rice from Momental Designs and I chose the LOCUST invites. They are BEAUTIFUL to me and they are $5.80 per set, which includes the invite, the response card and the reception card. I have to order 100. Here is the page:

Hope I got that link to work!!

Gimme some opinions girls!

I was lucky in that I found invites that I LOVED for a really decent price. I got my from exclusivelyweddings.com, and for the invite, response card, reception card, lined inner envelopes, thank you cards, placecards, and stamps for 110 invites, I only spent about $500. I have a feeling that is going to be well below average for the girls on here, but I didn''t do any kind of pocketfold or ribbon detail on mine.

We got ours from Weddingpaperdivas.com. Very reasonable prices, but not fancy.

Well, if they''re ''important'' to you or your FI, then they''re important period!

I really wanted invitations that would make people say "Wow, that''s the most beautiful invitation I''ve received in quite awhile!" So to me, it was important... to a point. I refused to spend over $500 on invitations, which wasn''t too difficult a budget to stick to with only 72 invitations needed. Ours were actually the exact same price as yours, after an assemble-it-yourself discount from the printer.

Anyway, in your last couple sentences you say you''re "going with" this designer, so I would put an amendment on your original post about your asking for opinions

We recently had a big discussion on here about how if you ask for opinions, you WILL get them... so make sure you want them. I''m not sure you want opinions on something you''ve already chosen!

(Not that your invitations would invite negative opinions, as they''re quite beautiful--just a warning!)

I love weddingpaperdivas!! That''s where we got our save-the-dates, and we''re thinking of getting our escort cards from them as well.

I also used wedding Paper Divas.

I just recieved them today actually! --I was able to use one of the shower designs as my wedding invite

sooooo I payed less.. and the design is cuter than the wedding version!
And I was going to make pocket fold envelopes.... and I decided to just order them. and save myself one step... bec i stil have to put them together etc.... But If i wasn''t doing all this --I would def recomend getting a box DIY kit... I have seen some really cute ones... martha stewart has some really cute ones that you just download the template.. They allways have 50% off coupons.. and that makes it even more affordable!
I am actually using the martha stewart programs for the ceremony... and they came with placecards (which i prob won''t use) But I got two boxes=100ct total for under $30.00

(I think they were $10 each bec I used coupons!

The invites you chose are very pretty and you get all that extra stuff with it!-- and you don''t have to esemble anything-!- I think it''s a good deal! not bad at all!

I bought my rehearsal dinner invites from wedding paper divas, I love them!

Anyways I bought 65 invitations and they cost almost 700 before tax and shipping (from www.penelopepaperie.com). That includes RSVP card, info card, matching lined envelope and petal fold invite, all handmade. Very nice! I thought I was saving a ton this way but apparently not. They are lovely though. I did save more than if I bought them from Hello Lucky like i originally would have loved (think many thousands). She even stamped my RSVP cards with my rubber stamp, sealed up my invites and used my embosser on all the envelopes before she lined them. Full service!

if they are exactly what you want, then they are worth it.

I expect to pay about USD 6 to 7 per card.

wow - those are beautiful invitations...i LOVE them!!

invitations were not something that are that important to me or FI. I just wanted something that wasn't plain and that went with our color scheme. So we actually purhcased a DIY box kit from Target of all places. They are cute enough for me, and CHEAP, which was also a bonus. If I hadn't stumbled upon those invites, I would have also ordered from Wedding Paper Divas. Luckily I did, and was able to save about $250.

EDIT - To answer your question, my DIY kit cost $75 for 100 invites - I will print them out myself so I imagine I will have to buy an ink cartridge or 2.

I just started looking for invitations too. Someone here suggested www.now-and-forever.com. They''ll send you 6 free samples. They''re very cute and the cards I looked at are cheaper than the ones at weddingpaperdivas.

Hope this helps!

Ours were a big splurge at around $10 per suite. But we absolutely love them, and agreed they were worth it. I cannot wait to have ours matted and framed in our new home!! Our save-the-dates and invitations were from Dauphine Press (letterpress)

I ordered our rehearsal dinner invites from Wedding Paper Divas and they are awesome and very affordable IMO!

I found a website that has free templates, went to Michaels craft store and spent ~$50 on some really great paper (two colors) and a paper cutter, printed them myself at home. Absolutely love them!

Bought our invitations,RSVP,and Save the dates from Target (preboxed set of 100) for $75.00 and they came out really great! Stamps cost me $100

well, being as i posted a shameless plug a while back for momental designs and how much i loved them, i''m a wee bit biased.

you should know that she''s very willing to help you out if you''re on a budget. we''re paying her $624 and that includes the invitation, response card, a reception card (which she has reworked into a directions card since our ceremony and reception are in the same location), printed response envelope, and outer envelope, artwork on invitation plus one enclosure card, our choice of premium shimmer pocket, and the attachment of the invitation to pocket. we''ve ordered 80 of the 5x7 lacy invites (picture below). she also gave us a range of other options that could''ve been tweaked to lower the price as much as $100, but after having been so flexible and helpful, we decided she had earned that extra 100, haha. i looked at a TON of other sites and found many that were cheaper but either weren''t nearly as unique or the quality wasn''t as good (i wanted heavier paper, etc), so if you''re going for a very customized, rich look, i think her prices are pretty good. if you love them, it''s worth it--just make up the difference by cutting cost on something you don''t care about as much (for us, that was favors).

Personally, I would never have spent that much on invitations. I don't really believe that they 'set the tone' for the wedding. Most people probably don't even remember what they look like.

That said, I've always enjoyed nice paper and ribbons myself! So my compromise was to go with www.invitesite.com and DIY. It was time consuming, sure, but super easy and lots of fun, and the invitations were totally lavish and elegant when finished. They looked like $10 each invitations, but only cost $3.50 each including reply cards.

Ultimately, like the other gals said, it's up to you. A good way to tell whether it is worth it to you is to ask yourself what else you might spend that money on if you weren't spending it on the invitations. If you can't think of anything you'd want more than those invitations, then it is worth it to you! If the thought of savings $230 which you could then spend on a fabulous pair of wedding shoes or a high quality veil, or a Roberto Coin pendant, or a plane ticket to visit a friend doesn't float your boat, or you hate the thought of DIY, then you should go for it!

We''re also using Kristy, she is amazing!! Just wanted to put in another good word for her!
