Price Negotiations

Is it normal, or customary or even expected of a buyer to negotiate price with dimaond e-vendors?

I''m new to all this.....

Can someone enlighten me?

I''m willing to spend around $5k.

I believe when buying anything from a vendor, there is negotiating. It may not always work, but it doesn''t really hurt to try.
