I think I have decided to look for some classic solitaire settings for my ering. I love pave and channel set bands, but I don''t know if SO and I can justify the cost right now. I love details like filigree and milgrain edging, but prefer them to be somewhat subtle.

I like this one from Blue Nile.

I really like the d. vatche x-prong setting... preferably with a square center.

Ditto this! I like it with an asscher.

NCSU - Do you like colored stones? If so, I found this amazing site where me and H may be getting my ring!

I can''t choose! Can I have a few?

There are a lot of solitaires that I LOVE, but those are my faves!

I love this one!

These are two of my favorites. I don't like the side view of this one, but I'm not sure how I'd change it. Dove on Knox for other views

Knox has about 3-4 bezels and I think I like this one best. It just seems right to me. Delicado on Knox site

I''m not usually a Knox fan, but that ring really is ''just right.''

Not a Knox fan?! Say it isn''t so!

I was so pleased to see the Niwaka ring you posted. I always forget about them, but love their site because they are all smaller stones, closer to what I can afford.

I''m a big Knox fan and I love that bezel solitaire as well as the Nikawa, too!

By the way, did you see that Nikawa USA filed for Chapter 7 last week? They''re liquidating the NYC store.

I am torn between the WF Legato and the image in my avatar. I am a HUGE fan of the tapered sides...it makes the center stone go BANG!

No! I''m not in the US (or Japan) so I don''t get to keep up much. Is the entire company going down or what does chapter 7 mean exactly?

I LOVE Mark Morrell''s torchiere setting...

Here''s the "blingier" version...

Mmmmmm...I''d have to say my favorite solitaire is the Boston_Jeff''s "famous" one from Leon Mege:

Mark Morrell's torchiere setting

I really like that one.

I totally second Rock_of_Love''s pick! While we won''t be getting anything quite that large, I loooove the low profile and minimalist setting.

Niwaka:
musey, have you seen this Mark Morrell? I know it''s prong-y instead of a half-bezel but they are similar. This was the first MWM I ever saw and it literally made me catch my breath. So amazing.

I LOVE Mark Morrell''s torchiere setting...
This will probably be my permanent solitaire setting when I get my ring (vs. my great-grandma''s ring which we''re using for the time being). It is just so incredibly fluid and graceful and feminine. This is offsetZ33''s Torchiere. Le sigh.
